EVENTS 2008

The regimental 'campaign' season lasts from early Spring to the Winter. This year we have the following scheduled events which are a mixture of training, public displays, a pilgrimage to the battlefields of the Western Front and ceremonial parades.

February 20             Ermysteads School.
A day of living history at this North Yorkshire school.

April 27 - 28             Cannock Chase Country park
The Birmingham Pals have invited us to the opening of an original Great War barrack hut for a weekend of living history.

July 12th             Imphal Barracks, York
Living history at the official Army open day in York

July 19 - 20             Festival of History, Kelmarsh Hall.
Once again we will be co-ordinating the infantry in the Great War element of English Heritage's annual flagship event. This year is going to include a replica British tank among the First World war displays. The Manchesters will establish a period training camp and put on displays in the central arena to massed crowds.

August 2 - 3               Hull Veterans Poss event (awaiting further details)

September 25             Hindenburg Line Day
Plans have yet to be confirmed as to how we will mark the day this year (our 14th anniversary). It has been suggested that we hold the AGM at this time rather than wait until Christmas.

September 27 - 28             Sherwood Forest Time Trail, Nottinghamshire
A relaxed living history weekend set among the ancient Oaks of Sherwood Forest. Organised by Howard Giles's EventPlan

October 6 - 10             Pilgrimage, Hindenburg Line, France
The 2008 annual pilgrimage will be to the battlefields of the Hindenburg Line.

November 9th             Remembrance Sunday, Manchester.
To further our plan to visit all ten borough in ten consecutive years this year we have been invited to parade in Bolton.
