Sheep and Goats at The Lazy Pig
|
Cusko: Cusko was a 4H lamb. He was raised by young ladies who love him very much. When the fair was over, Kusko got bigger and Dad was threatening to have him butchered. The girls asked if we would take him and, of course, we did. We call him the world's biggest sheep. We had no experience with sheep until Cusko came to us. We took him to get sheared two years later and people there who did have sheep experience told us he was the biggest sheep they had ever seen. He is shy but very beautiful and gentle. He loves the goats and has two girlfriends – Tara and Dolly.

Tara: Tara was another city limits farm animal who ended up homeless because neighbors called animal control. We urge everyone to call the city to be sure about animal regulations BEFORE adopting a pet. She is huge, sweet and very pretty. Rudy:
Rudy is one of our bottle babies. He came from a dairy goat breeder and is a neutered male goat or a whether. He is extremely sweet and very affectionate. Goats make wonderful pets (if your area allows you to have them). They are fairly low maintenance and will help you keep your weeds under control. Be careful though, they will eat ALL your plants too! Dolly: Dolly is our goat elder. She is a crotchety old lady goat but loves to eat and sleep in the sun. She is quite friendly – especially if you are carrying a bowl of oats. She was getting beat up by the younger goats she lived with so she came to live with our more gentle herd. |
Hazaa: Hazaa has a disease that prohibits her from being a dairy goat. She can pass this on to her kids so we took her in where she would not breed and could therefore not pass on any undesirable conditions. She is perfectly healthy, happy, chubby and beautiful Teaser: Teaser is our resident goat yoga expert. He does some incredible body contortions that we call goat yoga. He stands up on his hind legs, reaches his head almost completely around his back and stretches absolutely his entire body. It is quite impressive! Cocoa and Shiner: Cocoa is a mixed pygmy and Nubian goat. He is quite handsome. He was a bottle raised baby so is friendly and sweet. He enjoys human interaction and goat interaction equally. Shiner: Shiner is Cocoa's brother. He should have been a bottle baby and was initially. When he came to us, he refused to take a bottle at all and prefers to be left alone by humans unless we are feeding him. We honor his wishes as we do with all our animals. He is just as beautiful as his brother. |
