Installation
IT IS CRUCIAL THAT YOU READ THIS BEFORE YOU INSTALL THIS HACK.
1. Before plugging your iPod into your computer, you must set the main menu settings. This is because the background used for the hack has these icons implemented, and if you do not have this exact configuration, your main menu will either malfunction or take you to the wrong menus.

• Music
• Photos
• Videos
• Extras
• Games (for ivista and 9 menu items)
• Settings (9 menu items)
• Shuffle songs
  
• Sleep (9 menu items)

2. Plug iPod into computer, and open iPodWizard.(download here)
3. Load the firmware binary. Please, LOAD THE CORRECT FIRMWARE.
4. Click "Write to iPod".
5. When writing is done, click "Eject", but DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR IPOD.
6. Your iPod will reboot. When it has successfully rebooted, your computer will re detected. Eject it again. Now you may unplug.
7. Enjoy your iPod.

Troubleshooting
If you have trouble installing this hack, these tips may help you.

- Make sure you have the correct firmware. Load a 5G firmware onto 5Gs and 5.5G firmware onto 5.5Gs.
- Make sure you are running the latest version of iPodWizard, which is 1.3.0.7.
- Make sure no other programs are accessing your iPod.
- Make sure you don't unplug your iPod before it is ready.

If you have a reboot loop:
Go into disk mode by holding Center and Play until the Disk Mode screen appears. Connect to your computer and load a clean firmware.

If you are told to restore:
You loaded the wrong firmware. Make sure to load a 5G firmware onto 5Gs and 5.5G firmware onto 5.5Gs.

This firmware cannot, and will not, brick your iPod.

    1.load ur firmware from ipod or from file at IPW
    2.click on image tab and go to index 282 and click " load bitmap", locate the pic24395 from downloaded file.
    3. click on layout tab, put "layout resources" to Scheme layout, click "load all" and locate the folder u just downloaded
    4. click write to ipod..

This instructions are intended for those who have the itouch to ipod video or hybrid 1 / 2 hack installed,
otherwise please follow the instructions in loading the firmware in your ipod..

install Guide:

First you need to make sure "Old Pictures index saving system" is unchecked in IPW preferences

1. Load your firmware from ipod or file in IPW 1.3.0.7
2. On the Firmware Editor tab in IPW, click on the "Pictures" tab and click load all - locate the folder called "Images"
3. Go to the "Strings" tab - set your "Lang Block" to 24 and then click load list - locate the "lang-24.txt" in the "String" folder
4. a) Go to the "Layout" tab - on Resource Type select "Scheme Layout" from the drop down box, click load all and locate the "Scheme Resources" folder
    b) Next select "Font Types" from the drop down box, click load all and locate the "Font Layout" folder
    c) Almost done! Just select "Menus" from the drop down box, click load all and locate your "Menu Layout" folder
5. Finally, click "Write to iPod" ... DONE!

additional steps for installing the font hack ..(Do this before writing the firmware to ipod)

    - Go to "Fonts Tab" - go to index 16 for 5.5G / index 19 for 5G, click "load font" and locate "Podium Sans-Bold-28.fnt" on lang list folder.

     This is a Font manipulation hack, tested for english language (lang24.txt) so if ur using different language,
copy the following index from lang24.txt to ur language list..

but sorry for our friends from other countries that are using diff font style (like chinese and japanese)
no font resource to use for this hack..

First of all this is a font hack, so will not work on chinese, japanese, korean and those who use special character

fonts..

in this tutorial we  will use  the hack for hybrid 3.5 original layout

In this hack we used the Podiumsans size 28 font, index 19 for 5G, and 16 for 5.5G at Fonts tab.
Fonts can be made from bitmap or font file.. since we will gonna use the Podium Sans 28 font, we better edit the

bitmap of that font.
       1. load the firmware on IPW, click "fonts tab" goto index 19 for 5G, and 16 for 5.5G then click save bitmap.
       2. open ur image editor , i use Photoshop cs3, and load the saved bitmap; "podium sans.bmp", u will see the

fonts loaded.
       3. then grab ur favorite icons and paste and resize it onto the height of the podium image, in this case i  

used the original itouch icons , rounded square.
       4. place ur icons on top layer covering the characters on the original image, i covered the chars like

!@#$%^&*(), i don't wanna touch the numbers
           and the capital letters since it is the same font that the ipod uses when u fast scroll on ur song.
       5. make a new layer and make a selection , that will cover the characters behind ur icons and fill it with

white.
        6. bring ur icons' layer into top layer. u will see now ur icons and the remaining fonts.
 
since font can only be black and white,  we will make an illusions of having the colored  icons  highlighted  , so

we only need an outline of our icons..
if u use same size and shape of all ur icons then we can use only character for selecting all of our icons, but if

ur using different shape like in  "ivista",
we have to make an outline of all icons.
      
         7. make a new layer on top of ur icons layer, select ur marquee tool and control click the icon thumbnail

on ur layer palette , right  click on ur selection and select stroke
         8. make a stoke to be in the middle with 2 pixels and color black.
             do 7 & 8 for each icons.
         9. hide ur icons' layer , u will have now the outlined icons and the fonts.
         10. save as bitmap.
          11. at ipw click "load bitmap", ur icons might look cluttered, but u can fix this in character mapping by

changing the offset1 and offset2 , u can see the character mapped
                to ur outlined icons on the character window on the right lower portion of the ipw window.

          12. when u finish the character mapping u can click save font ..
   
  Remember which character is mapped to ur outlined icons  , that will be the one u will use on lang list.
edit ur lang list index using ur mapped char on these indexes;

this is quite confusing but the game is just try and error..
