NEXT WEEKS REHEARSAL (Tuesday 7th july) IS CANCELLED. BUT A POSSIBLE GIG ON 20th July

We have had to cancel our rehearsal next Tuesday because Chris Snell is busy preparing for the Beatles Day concert.
It's in the Echo Arena on 10th July.
(You just can't get the staff these days).
But because he'll be conducting the RLPO, we'll let him off.
Normal service will resume Tuesday 14th July.

Incidentally, the whole Beatles Day looks like a lot of fun, with loads going on during the day.
You can get further details at www.beatlesday.tv

Thanks to everyone who performed at the "Supporting People Forum" on 25th June.
We had a great time, and seemed to go down well.

POSSIBLE GIG 20th July
We've been approached with a view to performing at a conference organised by Rethink. in the Marriott Hotel on Queen Square.
As this is short notice, I need to check that people are up for it before we confirm.
Could you let me know your availability ASAP?

IMPORTANT NOTICE
proposed ichoir residential workshops weekend
Glynn Melyn
Abersoch
Friday 16th October to Monday 19th October 2009 (3 Nights)

The choir is planning a weekend away for us all out in the wilds of Wales later in the year.
Ideas for the weekend’s activities include:
singing workshops
communal cookery
walks on the beach and in the countryside
fun
and even making a record of our music.
If you have suggestions or objections, speak up!

DETAILS

We have provisionally booked “Glyn Melyn”, (a big old House just outside the small village of Abersoch in North Wales), for the third weekend in October, Friday to Monday.
Run by “Shoestring holiday project”, the house is secluded and has it’s own large private gardens and other facilities.
This means we can spend as much time singing (or whatever else we wish to do as the “Ichoir”) without interruption.
There are two large lounges and a communal kitchen where we can cook and eat together.
We shall cater for ourselves by collecting and taking with us our own groceries for sharing.
The bedrooms are equipped with bunk beds, four or five to a room.
(Take your own duvet or sleeping bag).
Places are LIMITED, so get your name down now.
The cost is £7.50 per person, per night.
We have to pay a 25% deposit to Shoestring holiday project when we confirm our booking,
so if you wish to go we need your name SOON (On or BEFORE 2nd June 2009).
We propose that we each pay £1.50 per week for the next 18 weeks towards our own place at Abersoch
(This has to be as well as our normal weekly tea and coffee subs).
To adequately cover the fees.
(The amount of the choir’s deposit payable to shoestring depends on how many of us want to go, so again, we need your name).

all about us

we're a small friendly choir, based in Liverpool, and we always welcome new singers and musicians - (right now we'd like more bass & tenors to join us!) - we perform eight or nine times a year at events around the city

we really enjoy our singing and we work hard to to get our music sounding as good as it can be - but we're also here to enjoy ourselves, and have fun, so the atmosphere is nice and relaxed.....

in fact we think singing is a great way to 'let your hair down' and build confidence!

our repetoire is a varied mix from the Beatles, Mamas and Papas & Simon & Garfunkel to the Eagles.......with a sprinkling of gospel......and we love singing The Coventry Carol at any time of year!

we are directed by our professional conductor,Chris, who rehearses the choir every Tuesday from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. at St Bride's Church, Catherine Street, Liverpool.

you're welcome to come and get an idea of what we do - we have a tea break half way through our rehearsal and a well earned pint after - so there's plenty of time to have a chat!
