That funny little thing called Annointing

The first time you see a hedgehog annoint, you will probably wonder what is wrong with your hedgehog.

When a hedgehog smells something new he will lick what he smells and then build his spit into a frothy lather that he will then spread over his quills.  Some of the positions they get into while doing this are hilarious and they will often tip over and continue annointing while laying on their back.

The bottom middle photo shows Snow annointing after "tasting" baby Kei.  Snow tipped over and continued to annoint on her back. For some reason Snow likes to annoint over other animals.  She also annoints over Tisha the cat and annoys the other girls during playtime by constantly licking at them.

Hedgehogs are so cute when they sit in your hand in a ball with just their cute little face showing.

Here's what happens sometimes when you want them to sit in a ball for a photo.
