What to buy
Before buying a guppy you should examine it very closely. The things you should look for when buying a guppy are:
> its body, check for any markings, such as injuries. When choosing females make sure they are not slender but quite chubby. Males are more slender than females but still don't buy extremely slender fish.
> Its skin, check for any white dots or mould, make sure the scales don't go away from its body like a pinecone.
> Fins, be sure not to buy that have deformed fins or frayed edges just on the edges of the fins, because they usually result to infections or diseases.
> Don't buy fish if you observe the following:
1. the body is narrower than the head.
2. The fins are clamped to or close to its body.
3. The gill covers are extended.
4. There is swelling of the throat.
5. The fish swims unnaturally.
> And the most important thing you like the fish that you are buying and you are happy with the fish you've chosen, because there is no point in buying a fish that you don't like.
