THOUGHTS FOR JUNE
Yesterday, by a vote of 46 to 11, the Oregon House passed SB 676, a bill that permits production and possession of industrial hemp and trade in industrial hemp commodities and products.
"I am glad that Oregon has joined the list of states that have agreed that American farmers should have the right to re-introduce industrial hemp as an agricultural crop," says SB 676 sponsor, Sen. Floyd Prozanski. "By passing SB 676 with strong bi-partisan support, the Oregon Legislature has taken a proactive position to allow its farmers the right to grow industrial hemp, to provide American manufacturers with domestically-grown hemp, and to profit from that effort."
The Oregon Senate passed the bill by an overwhelming majority vote of 27 to 2 on June 19.
Vote Hemp is optimistic that Governor Kulongoski will sign the bill. Oregon would become the ninth state to authorize regulated hemp farming under state law.

"The Israel Lobby apparently succeeded in convincing the Obama Justice (sic) Department that it is anti-semitic to accuse two Jewish AIPAC officials, Steven Rosen and Keith Weissman, of spying. The Israel Lobby succeeded in getting their trial delayed for four years, and now Attorney General Eric Holder has dropped charges. Yet, Larry Franklin, the DOD official accused of giving secret material to Rosen and Weissman, is serving 12 years and 7 months in prison.
The absurdity is extraordinary. The two Israeli agents are not guilty of receiving secrets, but the American official is guilty of giving secrets to them! If there is no spy in the story, how was Franklin convicted of giving secrets to a spy?

THE AMERICAN WAR MACHINE
PLANNING A FASCIST REGIME
Eighteenth century American revolutionaries have devolved into our current breed of citizens: American delusionaries. It actually makes perfect sense. Now that we're the American Empire, we must live in a constant state of denial about what our government really does. Otherwise, we'd either go crazy (if we had a conscience) or we'd feel the need to do something about it. It's much easier (and safer) to pretend that our government is not thoroughly corrupt - even when there's overwhelming, contrary evidence staring us directly in the face.
An example of this evidence can be found in a particular unresolved issue. Its glaring contradictions continue to haunt us, and it explains the mindset of our thoroughly corrupt duopoly.

Since the end of WWII, the U.S. has bombed China (1945-1946), Korea (1950-1953), China (1950-1953), Guatemala (1954), Indonesia (1958), Cuba (1959-1960), Guatemala (1960), Congo (1964), Peru (1965), Laos (1964-1973), Vietnam (1961-1973), Cambodia (1969-1970), Guatemala (1967-1969), Grenada (1983), Libya (1986), El Salvador (1980's), Nicaragua (1980's), Panama (1989), Iraq (1991-1999), Sudan (1998), Afghanistan (1998), Yugoslavia (1999), ... and none of these "democratic" intrusions has resulted in a democratic government respectful of human rights.
