about us

After a looongg hiatus, The Glass Bead is finally up and running again!

The Glass Bead started in July 2006 by me, Monica, and is based in Singapore (but I do international orders). Every piece has been carefully thought out before it was made (Ah! So that's why production is so slow!). They are also made in such a way that they are extremely versatile and can be worn by anyone, anywhere.

I started making my own jewelry because I was rather picky and found it difficult to find pieces that suited my style. It just seemed like a lot of shops were selling pieces that were remarkable similar to each other. What I'm trying to offer is a wide variation of jewelry so that you are bound to find something that suits your style and won't go through the same trauma as I did!

I chose to set up a proper website instead of just a blog so that I could provide enough information to give you all more assurance. Anyway, I have the ability to create my own pages, where it would have cost me a lot to pay someone to do it! The jewelry from The Glass Bead is made by the same designer from Drogue Designs. If you love drogue designs, you'll love our jewelry!

So why buy from us?

We guarantee that every piece sold here will only be created to a MAXIMUM of five. That means that if you get your hands on one of our pieces, you'll be one out of the five people in the world to have it! Some are even so exclusive they will only be made once! So it's important that you place your order fast if you especially like that piece.

We have successfully sold many of our pieces without a hitch and we will go to all lengths to ensure that you receive piece!

For more information on how to order, go to our How to Order section.

Jewelry Components

Despite our site title, which is very misleading, we use all sorts of beads like Swarovski Crystals, Czech Glass, Ceramic, Acrylic, Plastic and much, much more! The findings are rodium-plated which prevents the earring hooks and all from rusting, so you need not be afraid of saving them for a good occasion.

Past Layouts

10 Aug 2006 - 1 Dec 2007

I love this layout a lot, which probably explains why I had it for so long! Haha. Actually I was busy with my O's during this period, so I didn't have much time to change it. I do love the feminine, eclectic look of the brown and rusty pink. But now it's time to say goodbye to this layout and onto the next one!!

6 July 2006 - 9 Aug 2006

This was our very first layout, we meant to give it a very bohemian feel with the turquoise and the vintage flower.
