This spreadsheet provides a detailed sortable, searchable database of Elvis Presley's officially released recordings.
It is intended as an index, not a substitute, for Ernst Jorgensen's brilliant Elvis Presley: A Life In Music.
Within the spreadsheet, each line's tracking number is based on the session number listed in Mr. Jorgensen's book. Material from sessions that he has not listed are given a number between the two chronologically closest listings, usually x.500.
The listed notes from Mr. Jorgensen include only the briefest references. An asterisk in this column indicates that more-detailed session notes are listed in his book. The narrative of the book, of course, is not included.
The additional notes are annotations from alternative sources. These may be updates, explanations or corrections.
The compact discs listed for each track are intended to help build and organize a collection. Most mainstream albums are included, but some discs that offer no new material and no substantial improvement in sound have been excluded. Albums that were limited in release are the most likely to be omitted.
Lines 1900+ of the spreadsheet offer a chronological compact-disc guide. Tiny variations in timing and mixing are not considered.
Although Mr. Jorgensen's book remains the most thorough and reliable single guide to Elvis' recording sessions, in September 2004, Joseph A. Tunzi's Sessions III
became an essential companion volume. Notes from Mr. Tunzi's book are mentioned in the spreadsheet when they help to update Mr. Jorgensen's research.

Feel free to save and change this spreadsheet as it suits you.
