The Ultimate Minority

Submit To Desire

"Side one waz rekorded on 16 tracks.  Our first big studio time.  Side two waz taken from various FM live broadcasts on college radio stations.  I waz against the idea, but our rekording budget waz used up by the time we finished side one.  Someone in the band suggested the FM tracks and it seemed like the only other alternative.  Other than waiting for another 3 months from more cash.  I wanted to bring more sexuality into the musick.  I knew if I mixed the ritual magick with a new sort ov direction to sexuality it would be an original style that would reflect my emotions and personality.  The cover ov the LP took on a power in itself.  People bought the LP because ov the cover.  We were also making no new friends with women's groups.  I knew in myself I waz harnessing a whole new sexual concept.  I had to be not only in charge ov, but responsible for.  Az an individual you have to expect yourself for who you have made yourself, and what you have or are evoking.  I had accepted myself for who I waz and what I dreamed about.  After releasing this LP I knew I waz going to be constantly challenged about my power ov sexuality and the people it would influence.  My concept on SUBMIT TO DESIRE waz to admire and worship the the female.  Her power.  Her influence.  Her sexuality.  An then... my curiosity and arousal ov two women az lovers.  No one to my knowledge had attempted to venture this path thru musick.  I had to expose myself and make sure it waz not presented in a sleazy way.  I had to fashion my musick with true notions.  More sensual than directly sexual.  But still instinctively sexual.  It's very hard to present your true sexual desires in an artistic way.  Its got to be one directly and seriously... or should I say efficiently?  Oh... when we rekorded the title track I had the guitar player at the bottom ov an elevator shaft.  We rekorded him from six flights up...instead ov using reverb."

"We used backmasking on side one.  Subliminal sexual suggestions. It waz called "Sound Suggestions"  by the studio.  A digital processing form ov rekording especially for arranging subliminal messages."

"Side two are from FM radio broadcasts in the early 80's.  I want to reflect both sides ov our style ov musick.  The 'song' style and the atmosphere and instrumental styles.  Both on the same album."
