"Ok, here we go... We started in 1988 with tracks like 'SNAKEBITE'.  We did 10 versions!  'EL TOO'   was the first take!  and used it!  ummm....'DOMINATRIX'  waz jus a remake ov 'SNAKEBITE'.  Everyone else disagrees,  I can barely tell the difference when we play just the backing tracks.  We finished up with 'A BETTER WAY' - it actually had lyrics - we dropped them out at the last moment.  The line-up waz me, Arthur PW, an Tione.  Next session we did 'THATS ROMANCE'.  Jonathan Briley had not been in the studio for ages, but it waz hiz song and I loved it.  We did 2-3 versions.  I told him to add the laugh at the end - I thought it would fit.  We also id about 5 mixes ov 'SNAKEBITE' that same day.  Using Larry Van Horn and Eugene Difrancisco on guitars.  It waz only the 4 ov us for those tracks.  The track we spent the most time on waz 'THE LIGHT POURS OUT OV ME'.  i did the vocals and keyboards and Eugene did everything else.  It waz amazing... to me.  First he laid down the drums.  Then he played bass guitar while I did the keys.  Next he played guitar.  We only did 2 guitar tracks and I think we sent half ov our life mixing it.   I knew it waz a cover tune so I wanted to really do it justice.  Its my favorite track by MAGAZINE.  I never found a mix that I favored.  We did at least 8 in depth mixes.  There were 5 vocal tracks I think?  Whispered vocals, harmony vocals... there were just too many tracks to lay with.  I never spent more time on a song than this one!"

There are about 5 or 6 test  pressings of the Sleep, Or Forever Hold Your Piece LP which are identical to the official version except "El Topo" is replaced by the version of "El Topo" featured on the Cyberflesh Compilation.  Test pressings came with white "promotional copy" labels.

This album iz dedicated to the memory ov George Adamsom (The Lion Man) who spent hiz whole life in dedication to protecting and raising lions.  He was shot to death b poachers in Kenya while protecting orphan leopards and lions.  He was 88 years old.  (1986-1989).  We are not the real ones who will miss him.
