We are a small family owned and operated farm in Davie County, NC. We have 4 small children that play and help with barn chores daily. We have anywhere between 10 and 20 animals at a time. Our two donkeys that we will always keep, Brighty and Johnny Be Good, a pony Fancy, that is one of our daughters that she would never let us get rid of,2 miniature horses, 3 barn cats, 2 dogs, and right now 23 miniature donkeys... you can't have just one! We originally just wanted a donkey until we found out how loving and addicting they can be. Then we went to an auction and I felt so bad for the miniature donkeys that were there that I knew I could help them and find them good homes. Alot of miniature donkeys owners say they would never purchase from an auction, but my thought is if I don't do it and take care of them who will? Since I am a stay at home mom and didn't have enough to do we decided to find as many donkeys loving homes as possible. It is hard to imagine that someone could ever mistreat one of God's creatures but it does happen. Our hope along the way is that these little donkeys will bring their new owners as much joy and love as they have brought us. And even when I am sure they are going to good homes I still can't help but miss them when they leave.
All of our animals are handled daily. Some of the little ones are imprinted from birth and have a very sweet loving nature. We do rescue a few along the way that need a little extra attention but they also turn out to be wonderful donkeys. Their feet are trimmed every 8 weeks and they are up to date on a worming schedule. We sell pet quality and show quality miniature donkeys. We have something for everyone's budget and personal needs. Some just want a pet to love and aren't concerned with papers and show quality. Others only want a donkey with papers and great bloodlines. I can understand both of these. There is no reason to spend thousands of dollars on what will be a big pet to play with. We also train to drive and ride for small children. Most are halter broke and lead. The children love grooming the donkeys so they have the best hair in town. Most are up to date on shots and come with their own records. If we don't have exactly what you are looking for we can help you find it or we might have it coming soon, we are always looking for more donkeys to love on and find great loving homes for. We also can arrange delivery. We deliver locally in North Carolina and some parts of Virginia and consider other states. We also can arrange with a shipper even across seas. Please see our for sale page we do run specials from time to time and there is always a discount on returning customers and more than one donkey in one purchase. Also all reasonable offers are considered, and you can even layaway your donkey.
We also welcome field trips, our 5 year old's preschool came out in February and we had alot of fun with a tractor hay ride, donkey rides, grooming and feeding and even a little pin the tail on the blow up donkey! Our goal is to eventually have a covered arena where we can do this more. You are welcome to come and visit, just call ahead and we will gladly let you give our donkeys some attention and a cracker.
