Apparently, Troy has a small role in the Steve Martin movie Shopgirl playing with the Volebeats. I haven't witnessed it, but he's listed in the cast and, hell, that's still pretty darn cool, right?

Ben has an article in the latest edition of CREEM magazine in which he tackles such diverse topics as former Detroit Tiger Kirk Gibson, being served snickerdoodles by Beck's wife, and his childhood. Go see how he pulls it off. The same issue also has a brief review of If You Don't Already Have a Look.

The Dirtbombs, Troy Gregory and the Stepsisters, and eight other bands will be playing at Detroit's Magic Stick this Sunday. A $10 donation is asked and all proceeds will go to the Red Cross to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The doors open at 7 and ages 18 and up are welcome. Come early and bowl next door at the Garden Bowl, as half of the earnings are also going toward the hurricane relief.

So, those people over at It Came From Detroit decided to finally do something, and it just so happened to be putting up a clip of the Dirtbombs. It's quite entertaining and I highly recommend that you give it a watch. It can be viewed here (You need Quicktime)

The folks over here at the Dirtbombs Fans wish miss Ko Melina a speedy recovery. The Fuzzmaster reportedly broke a string Friday night in New York and sliced open her hand in the process. Ko was rushed to the hospital to be patched up.

Our friend Eric witnessed last night's show in Hoboken and had a couple of nice things to say about it.
"Pretty much the same set as the April shows but they tried out the German song they do. Mick just gave up less than halfway through, and would just wait to sing "Das is good". They ended with a loooooooooooooooooooong jam to "Granny's Little Chicken" including an amazing finish in which they each solo'd and walked off, leaving the newly skinny and freshly-cut haired Ben. THen just when it looked like he was finishing it off, Troy and Ko ran back on stage and did their distortion thing to end the whole night."

You folks in Hoboken always have a killer time. Geeze.

The Dirtbombs new album, "If You Don't Already Have a Look" recieved a rather favorable review in the latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine. If somebody has a scan of the review that would be appreciated, otherwise I might end up getting it myself at some point (and Holly cannot seem to find a copy of it anywhere in her hometown)
(You guys mean this Rolling Stone magazine review?)
And in other news, it is reported that Holly just proposed to Lee for being so god damn amazing. No word yet on whether or not he accepted.

*sigh*...
The two year anniversary of this website was almost two weeks ago and I completely forgot about it. Folks, it's been an amazing two years. I've learned so much through everybody who's visited my little old fan site. I appreciate the fact that you take a few minutes out of your day to email me or post on the forum or even just read my updates. Thanks kiddos.

Let's stop with the mushy stuff: the Dirtbombs' official blog!. Thanks to Anjel for the link!

The Dirtbombs' adventures across the globe continue in Serbia and Croatia with Ring My Belgrade, the latest report from the road by Ben. This Metrotimes installment joins Ben's (award-winning!) accounts from Australia and Japan.

Just a reminder that the Dirtbombs are playing a free show at the Concert of Colors, Detroit's diversity festival, this Saturday the 16th. The Dirtbombs hit the Diversity Stage at 6:45 PM in Chene Park. Be sure to get downtown early for the ethnic food.

"The Dirtbombs won't get any recognition", they said. "Nobody cares about the Dirtbombs", they said. Well, naysayers, MSN didn't name Ultraglide in Black one of the best 100 albums in the past 20 years for no reason... Right up there with U2. Hot damn. Just one question: when will the big man at the major record label pick up on this so rock and roll can be saved once and for all?

Wanna see Ben trashing his drum set? OF COURSE you do. Here's a video clip of Ben trashing his video set, courtesy of Ted Cowan. More videos to come. THANKS TED!
(Psst! Here's a little clip of Pat and Ben duking it out. Hell... fucking... yes)
Also, word on the street says that I run some fangirl MySpace group thingy for Ben Blackwell. Me? NEVER!. Okay, seriously, this was one big laugh for me... Nothing more... And HONESTLY I have NOTHING to do with the fake Ben Blackwell on myspace, either.

"If You Don't Already Have a Look" has been getting very positive reviews.

"...this set's most immediately striking characteristic is its sheer consistency of quality, as there are scarcely any absolute throwaway performances lurking among these 52 tracks. (Which is astounding when you consider some of them were originally destined to become flipsides in New Zealand.)" -Pitchfork Media.

"The Dirtbombs are like a drunken Fourth of July party. Everything is great and fun at first, but the combination of the alcohol and the sun means things get a little weird, a little messy. First you're playing volleyball, then you're making out with someone you've claimed to have hated since grade school." -Stylus Magazine.

"Summing it up to a must have. 52 tracks, more than 2 hours is almost an overdose." -Diggin' for Dirt

"Cut this man and he bleeds shellac!" -SoundsXP

I think I need to take a Graphics Design class before I go and change my layout on my own. It's back to normal (well, sort of).

I'm trying to figure out this new layout and failing miserably. So I think I have an idea or two, and it will be fixed ASAP. But I'm going for a cool Nichelle Nichols thing. It'll work out eventually.
HEY! The site was linked in a Serbian review. You can read it here. I mean, if you CAN read it.

The local chapter of FBLA will present an award on Friday to me for my work on this website using the skills I have learned in my Web Design classes over the past two years. So now you can say this website is award-winning. I'm proud of the site, but personally, I don't think it's THAT great. But whatever, there'll be a trophy in the case near the gym at my school.

It's hard to believe it, but the site is soon approaching our 2 year anniversary of existing. Wow.
So, in honor of this, we will be under construction, making everything absolutely perfect. All dead links will be fixed, photos of ex boyfriends will be taken off of the photos page, the news section might be archived, as well as a slightly different layout (if Haley gets time off from fixing her other websites to help me out). My goal is to get this done by Friday, but please don't take my word on that.

Also, my friend Foxy Roxy and her pal, Sir Eric made a Dirtbombs MySpace page. Does this count as a second fansite? Maybe? Hmmmmm....

Finally got my copy. It took Sam Goody since the Friday before the record was released to give me my damn CD, but I got my copy.
Out of complete summer boredom waiting for school to start again, I would like to make you a postcard. Yes, YOU. Email me your mailing address, and I will hit you up with a nicce fun-filled Dirtbombs-related postcard. Or, if you would like to send ME one, and then I can send you a postcard back, please feel free to send it using the mailing address uner my profile in the About section.

Also, the photos page will be done by Friday. This is my goal. PLEASE bug me about it.

Congrats to our friend, Corwin for getting in on the If You Don't Already Have A Look... action and having some of his photos published in the 24-page booklet. Or so my sources say. I reserved my copy and am just waiting on my paycheck to pick it up. No, I am not losing my touch, I can assure you. Granted, I didn't pick it up the day it came out, but again, I am not losing my touch. At least it's not like Dangerous Magical Noise where I waited 2 months!

Hey All, it looks like the cover art to "If You Don't Already Have A Look" is out.

Maybe I'm behind the times and everyone has already seen this, or maybe I'm groundbreaking and fresh. Either way, I really don't care, I just wanted to post the picture.

Hey, it took a while, but my many apologies for being a silly teenager and lots of inside jokes later, the Dirtbombs Fans is FINALLY back on the links page of the official site.
As I have left this site to die, I have decided that I cannot run it alone and therefore have contributors. The first contribution is below.

Congrats to Ko and her amazing show on the Underground Garage on Sirius Sattelite Radio. She's been playing everything from the Greenhornes to Howlin' Wolf to Aerosmith. My kind of radio show!

I was digging through old files on the old Dirtbombs account when I came across an archive of what the site used to look like. Click here for a trip down memory lane... All the links at the bottom work except for the forum. Thanks for those who actually remember when the site looked like that. You guys are the bestest of the best. I'm reaching the two year mark in four months. Whoa.

As a little treat fer ya'all (we'll call it a late Valentine's Day present), here's a copy of the Dirtbombs covering the Eurythimics' "Missionary Man" at a Seattle show in January of last year. Please save target as you mofo.

Blender magazine reports the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth about what I like to call the "Skippy Incident".

Holy Sly Stone, a site archive. Boy, oh boy, PLEASE don't let me do that... ever... again...

I'm not dead, I promise.
I updated the bios section, working on the photos section, and am adding a special surprise soon.
And for a few short days, the forum was members only, but after everyone wanted to chop my head off and feed me my own arms, I decided to make it accessable to everyone.
I love you all,
Holly

Dear Dirtbombs Fans,
I know.
I know.
No updates.
But once I get information I have missed out on (seeing as how I REALLY need to be able to get in to college, so I need to study and get service hours, leaving no time for the site) I shall update. I promise.
Love,
Holly
