Okay, I will be the first to admit that I can't write for shit. However, I took it upon myself to start working on a bios section for the band. You can find it in the About section (just click lovely miss Ko!). If anyone wants to write these for me, please feel free to email me your bios. THANK YOU!
Also added links. The Decks and the Mooney Suzuki. You should check out the Decks, they're deck.
P.S.: HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY, MICK! (I'll be unavailable on Saturday, so I'm getting it in early).

December 15, 2004
I updated the Site intro.

December 8, 2004
It seems as if someone has built a Gories fan site. Very cool, if you ask me. Still under construction, but you can visit it at www.thegories.tk. Thanks to Cody White for the linkage. TiP: put on yer volume, looser.

December 3, 2004
Hey, losers! I sent out an emailed newsletter. If you didn't get it, it's because you've never emailed me. Email me, you idiot.
Tonight's the big Hives show. Wish I were there. Humph.
Not being one to hold a grudge, I'm happy to report that the other website finally put a different photo on the front page. Very hot, with tracksuits to boot. Someone should tell them that they should wear tracksuits as a stage uniform. If not, I will.
And Ko's finally an official Dirtbomb, seeing as how the "official" site finally added her bio. Troy's was added ages ago. Sorry if I forgot to report upon that.

November 27, 2004
I know what you're thinking:"Oh my goodness, Holly hasn't updated in over three weeks! Is she dead???"
Alas, I am not dead. I am fine. Although, due to the fact that I now have a place of employment to cover the expenses of an upcoming vacation, I don't have much time left to do this site anymore. I will have people taking turns with shifts as far as running the site and I will always drop in now and then to post something, but I really don't have much time to do this.
But I do have news... the Hives invited the Dirtbombs to play with them on next Saturday and Sunday in Columbus and Milwaukee, respectively. For those going: I envy you.
Inside sources say that the B-Sides CD that will be released by In the Red (of course) has been finished and will be released soon.

November 12, 2004
It is now 11:57 EST. Troy Gregory will advance another year in his life cycle in approximately 3 minutes. Party 'til you puke.

November 4, 2004
Special shoutout to Pamela Superfan and Haley Querro on their birthdays!
Brian Roberts, a starving journalist from the Tampa are, met me at the Dirtbombs show back in May. I gave him my URL, and eventually, he emailed me asking if he could interview me. He hasn't gotten it published yet, so it is posted on the forum. Here you go!

November 2, 2004
Get out there and vote, oh legal ones, and make sure you vote for who you WANT to vote for, not because someone told you who to vote for. *coughdavidcobbcough*
Being the ever lazy one, I keep forgetting to mention the following items of news:
Ben Blackwell won the 2004 Rolling Stone College Journalism Award in Entertainment for the two tour diaries he wrote for the Detroit Metro Times. Claps to him.
Troy Gregory finally has a bio page on the official site.
And I am starting a fund. It's the "Holly wants to see the Dirtbombs/Hives in December" fund. Donate to my mailing address, por favor. Hey, even I'm not too proud to ask for handouts.

October 27, 2004
Pick up Rolling Stone with John Kerry on the cover. Flip to the Letters section. Smile.
I changed the photos in the about section of Haley, Leila-Anne, and I. Why? Because I felt like it. Why am I reporting this? Because I am self-centered and think I look DAMN hot in my new photo.

October 26, 2004
Sorry for the long delay. Here's a bit o' news:
Concerning the whole lawsuit thing, I am not Jack White nor am I Jim. Therefore, I cannot rightfully have an opinon in the matter. Seeing as how this is a Dirtbombs website, even though Jim was and always will be a Dirtbomb, I have chose to drop that matter right now. End.
On the forum, we are holding a little Dirtbombs Survivor game. You vote off your least favorite song on Horndog Fest. The last song standing will win. You must be a registered member to vote.
And in other unrelated news, John Peel, DJ for Britain's Radio 1, passed away while vacationing in Peru. This is a sad day.

October 8, 2004
Guess who's back, back again? Holly's back. Tell a friend.
Yes, I am back... Why was I gone for eight weeks? A long story that I will not waste yer time with.
Let's see, news....
The Detroit City Council now has a website.
Buy Chandy's news book about the Stripes entitled Fell in Love with a Band. Interviews with Ben, Tom, Jim, Ko, and lots of other really cool Detroit rockers are stuffed in this wonderful literary masterpiece. Am I a kiss-ass? Yes I am. Proud of it, too.
And about the whole incident at the Magic Stick a few weeks ago during "Dirt". Um, yeah. Let's just say I won't look at a jar of Skippy the same way again.

September 20, 2004

Well, a guitar has been stolen. A guitar that belongs to MICK COLLINS.

Yeah, apparently, that's not the guitar that was stolen, so I'll just have to wait for Holly to make another picture. Or something.
Monica.

August 10, 2004
There appears to be an issue with the forum. I don't know what the error is (Leila-Anne should know and should tell me soon), but I will make sure this is fixed ASAP.

August 9, 2004
Maybe it's because the Detroit rock gods were pissed off at me because I made the Von Bondies hate me (or quote "hurt their feelings" end quote), but my liner notes to Horndog Fest fell out of the front of my school binder and I couldn't find them (it was raining, so they were probably trampled in a puddle). If anyone has a decent-sized copy of the cover, please email me so I can have a copy for my binder for PR purposes (nobody can look past the naked cat. Nobody).

August 6, 2004
School is for suckers. I am a tad bit pre-occupied, so don't expect as much from me, okay?
I do want to know how the show at the RnR Hall of Fame went. If I had known sooner (like if Ben had sent out the official newsletter out sooner), I could have scraped up some money to go. Humph.
And in un-related news, Rick James died. No more cracking fun at that annoying Dave Chapelle catch phrase and saying "I'm Mick Collins, bitch!" for a while, okay?

August 2, 2004
For your interest, European tour dates.

July 27, 2004
I have a question and I want it answered truthfully: do you guys go to my website to listen to "a lovestruck teenagers adolescent diatribe on her crush"? Read all of the news archives. Slap me if there is one thing about my "love" for Ben. Please. I changed my website a while back so that it wouldn't be about that. I thought I did a damn good job. I didn't think it was that mature of someone to take jabs at a fifteen-year-old girl who seems to have a lot more maturity than you. I am generally a nice person who hates to pick fights, but Mr. Merry, you are a cock.

July 26, 2004
My daddy's getting me a domain name for an early birthday present. So, if this site doesn't work all of a sudden one day, the domain name is http://www.dirtbombsfans.com
Thanks to daddy! Visit Reinhardt Web now!!!! Do it!

July 25, 2004
I hear the shows at the Bowery Ballroom were great, but who was filling in for Pat? I hear Patrick Keeler (Greenhornes). Email me, please, about this.

I am lazy. Sorry. I will post European tour dates ASAINL (as soon as I'm not lazy).
You know the Dirtbombs/Greenhornes show I was talking about? remember how Jack White played with them? Here's a link to listen to him playing on "Thunder in the Sky". Easier to "Save Target As..." to listen to it. Thanks to Buckley Workman from the Little Room. Have a cookie.

July 20, 2004
I scanned the photos from the Orlando show and put them on my Buzznet photoblog. I was going to upload the photo of me and Ben that Alisa took before the show, but since I am coming across as a fangirl who loves Ben Blackwell, I shall not (I am still pissed about the whole site description fiasco). But I will post this one on this site (because it's a damn good photo):

More on July 19, 2004
So they finally updated the official site. They added my site as a link. Am I wrong for hating the site description? I mean, it may be true, but it's really annoying...

July 19, 2004
So I can stop complaining, as I have my Dirtbombs/Adult. split. A scan of the inside of the jacket will be up most likely tomorrow. (I am the proud owner of "H. Moody of 3,000" because I am now just a number)
New question up on the nerdy Dirtbombs trivia game thread. Very easy. I will get hard ones soon.
Also, I am scanning pictures from the Orlando show tomorrow morning. We'll put it this way: I am no Pat Pantano and take horrid photos. I do pride myself on a picture I took of Mick back stage.
AND WHAT THE HELL IS THIS ABOUT JACK WHITE PLAYING THE DRUMS AT THE DIRTBOMBS/GREENHORNES SHOW THE OTHER NIGHT????? Okay... calming down. Somebody email me about this if you saw it. My head hurts.

July 16, 2004
I got pictures from the Orlando show developed (finally). Will be on the site probably on Monday.

July 15, 2004
I think we've finally found the answer to the age-old question:

Only my mom would go to her work (Bank of America) and print out a copy of the check Ben cashed for my Dirtbombs/Adult. single so I could have his autograph. I have a very lame mom. Please tell me I am not alone.

July 13, 2004
Congrats to Monica and Fern for correctly answering the first question of the Geeky Dirtbombs Trivia Game.

Q: When (exactly) did Mick's former band, the Gories, form?
A: January 3, 1986 at 10:43 p.m.

Although both Monica and Fern got the right answer, the points go to Monica for getting to it first. To compensate, both recieved seperate bonus questions. Therefore, Monica is leading with two hundred points!
I was scanning through the liner notes of all my records yesterday when I noticed something: every photographer of all four White Stipres records has been or is a Dirtbomb. Whoa.

July 12, 2004
There will be a Dirtbombs Geeky Trivia game taking place in the forum. The rules are like "Win Ben Stein's Money", where whoever gets the question right gets points and a bonus question. If they don't get that bonus question right, it's a toss-up to the next person. To play, you must:

1.) Be a registered and active member of the forum (registered on or before July 11, 2004 and have at least 5 posts)

2.) Not be affiliated with the band or the Dirtbombs Fans (the following people cannot play because they are either forum admins/mods or involved with the site: Holly Moody, Leila-Anne, Haley Querro, Monica, Nicolette)

The player with the most points wins. Winner will recieve their choice of a trucker hat with the Dirtbombs Fans logo embroidered in it, a 12 CD case with the Dirtbombs Fans logo embroidered on it, or a Dirtbombs/Adult. single.
Good luck!!!

July 10, 2004
I know this is in advance, but I won't be online tomorrow and I will forget by Monday. The 5,6,7,8s will be playing with the Dirtbombs at the Magic Stick on September 29th along with the Hentchmen. The 5,6,7,8s are that groovy band of "Kill Bill" fame. Thanks to Lee (ink slinger) for the good news!

July 9, 2004
Elizabeth the Elf Maid was kind enough to send me a tape of the Detroit Rock City Festival (Thread Counts, Dirtbombs, Blanche sets), however, she cut the tape off before Jim's last performance. I would say a couple of swear words in frustration (not to Elizabeth, of course, to the Rock gods for being cruel), but I will refrian. All in all, it was a good tape (although I like Ben more when he's behind his drum set... but I didn't say that...)
In other news, happy birthday, Jack White!!!! (Gotta give da man props. I wouldn't know who Mick is if it weren't for him, but yet again, I didn't say that)

This world aint big enough for two Dirtbombs...

July 7, 2004
Wanna see some funny shit? Do you like the retro sounds of bands like ? and the Mysterians? Then you'll like these music videos (links ahead). Troy Gregory and the Stepsisters (You know Troy. The doll in the upper right-hand corner of this page.) made two music videos. "Yer Secret Santa" (with cameo from Micky C.) and "Whatever Posessed U". These wonderful ditties are from Troy's solo album, Laura. Rock on! (Can I look like Noelle when I grow up???)
I was watching good ole cartoons for grown-ups last night on Adult Swim and noticed that the theme song to "Space Ghost Coast to Coast" sounds exactly like "Granny's Little Chicken". Hmmmm...

More on July 6, 2004
I added a few pictures on the photo page. A few in the misc. section, a few in the live section, and a few in the photo ops section.

July 6th, 2004
Oh my Jim Diamond, this is like Christmas or something! I don't go online for three days, and voila, the site is done! (By the way, the hyperlink to go back to the home page is in the lower right-hand corner)
Today, as many of you may know (or have chosen to forget), is the one year anniversary of the website. Lee (our favorite ink slinger) made this lovely picture in honor. I celebrated like any rock star would and treated myself to a Red Bull for breakfast.

July 3rd, 2004
This is an update from the new website designer, Haley Querro -- I am getting up the new layout as we speak. Holly has contacted me in hopes that I would make a new and improved layout, one that is more appealing than the last, and it is what I have hoped to bring. As a huge fan of the Dirtbombs, I was very glad to do this for Holly, the band, and the fans.
If you are interested in my other works or would like for me to design a website of your own, please simply contact me. You can find my information under contact information. You may also find my Blanche fansite up under the links.

June 29, 2004
Okay, so I sent out newsletter number seven today. It said that there would be a link to the interview Jim McCartney held with me. I forgot to save it to my floppy disk, so when senor McCartney resends it to me, I will post it on my site. Sorry!

June 28, 2004
I will be interviewed by a local magazine staff writer, Jim McCartney, on my website and life as an infamous Dirtbombs fan. When he writes up the story, I will post it, whether it's published or not.
Also, I added a link in the Links and Contact section. Haley is a wonderful gal I met over at the Little Room who asked me how I got my connections to such a wonderful band. I told her that I built this website and within the span of 9 months, I became infamous and got to meet the band and fun stuff like that. She told me that she was going to build a website about Blanche, and so she did. It's under Blanche's official website link.

Later on June 25, 2004
Okay, so I started a thread at the White Stripes message board, the Little Room to see if anybody could find me a picture of Uncle Eddy from the WB TV show, "Grounded for Life" wearing a Dirtbombs shirt (as it was reported a while back). Well, thanks to the uber-cool Kevin (Twitch on both the Little Room and our forum), here (click) it is.
You deserve a cookie, Kevin!

June 25, 2004
well, today's been a boring day, so I had nothing better to do than to stay on the computer typing things in to google. In one of my expeditions, I found this website about fritters. Recipies galore. Fun.
Sorry, not much Dirtbombs news today, although I did go to MotorCityRocks.com and visit their online store. I saw some Christmas cards that (might) have the band on the cover (it doesn't say it's them, but there are two drumsets and somebody looks as if he is demolishing them, which lead me to believe that it is). I will buy a shitload of these if it's them because I am so over sending Christmas cards with the Virgin Mary praying to her son on them. Blugh.

More on June 24, 2004
Our good friends over at the Little Room say that the Lager House is hosting a concert featuring Thread Counts (Ben's other band) on Sunday night. Doors open at 8pm with free food. 21+ show. Lager House (DUH!). Other acts: The Good Looks/The Blow Tops/The Night Terrors. For more info, click here.

June 24, 2004
I got a shitload of photos (finally) thanks to Pamela Threeton. Gracias, Senora Threeton! They will be on the photo section soon. Also, I have a bunch of Thread Counts photos (mostly Ben looking like a cross between Kurt Cobain and Iggy Pop). If you want those, email me. WAYYYYYYY too many to put on the site. I will post this one though, as it's the only one I have with Ben AND Muldoon.

June 22, 2004
I got a lot of photos of the Detroit Rock City Festival from message boards and stuff (because you guys are far too lame to email yours to me... I know at least one of you underdogs went). Once I get permission from the photogs, I will post them.
I have heard/read way too many people tell me this for it not to be true. Sadly, Jim Diamond is no longer playing with the Dirtbombs as bassist. His last show was Saturday night at the DRCF. We love you, Diamond! (Hopefully he's pulling a Pat and coming back. Cross your fingers and wish on stars.)

June 21, 2004
So.... I never got photos of the Rock City Festival. Seriously, guys. I'm bummed I didn't get to go... share! share!
I heard a shocking rumour, but will not tell you about it until it's confirmed. Breaks my little heart! *sad face*
If ANYONE knows more about the Romantics split, please tell! Grunnen Rocks helps immensely, but not as much as I'd like it to.
Currently working on discography section. Yet again, I would love to have scans of single covers. Thanks. (It's actually up and working, but needs to be fully updated, as I need more information about some of these singles.)

June 18, 2004
Am i the only one who is completely bouncy about the fact that the Romantics are making a split with the Dirtbombs AND that the Romantics are covering "I Can't Stop Thinking About It"? I sure hope not! Thanks to Evert for being kick-ass and all-knowing and letting me in on this "secret".
The band added tour dates from the last time I told you about new tour dates (according to VH1.com, but who are they? People with Ticket Master search engines...)

June 17, 2004
I just realized yesterday that it's not the Adults, it's Adult. that is splitting the split/split/split. FUDGE! And my mom sent out the money to Ben (along with a belated birthday card) out with the post yesterday. Oh well. I look like an ass again! SCORE!!!

June 16, 2004
Sorry that I haven't updated in a while. Things have been hectic.
HAPPY (late) BIRTHDAY BEN!!!!!!!!
Just want to let you know that by August, there should be a URL for this site. I mean a REAL URL. probably dirtbombsfans.com. Thanks to the two people who are going to help me out on this!
I sent Benjamin my money for the Dirtbombs/Adult. split. I will tell you all about it when I get it. I will also be buying more copies (as soon as I can) to give out on the site because you guys aren't all that involved in contests unless there's a prize. Bums!
Oh, and there was an error in my interview. Mick bought a copy of Fortean Times, not Times instead of Spin when he made the Cool List. I apologize! It was all the Forty Fives' fault for being so damn loud during my interview (that or it was all my fault for not introducing myself to Ben earlier in the night because I was chicken, forcing me to have to interview them during the opening act). I was told to link the magazine, too. Here's a link! It actually looks like something Mick would read... oh, because he does. I'm lame don't mind me...
According to the folks over at Motor City Rocks, the Dirtybombs will be the last act for the first day of the Detroit Rock City Festival. So stay awake that late folks, it's at 10:00 p.m. I'm going next year. I can't wait for that! AND TAKE PHOTOS! LOTS OF PHOTOS!!!! (Ecspecially ben with Brian Muldoon... I believe they are playing as Thread Counts)
(Geeze, this is the longest update ever) (Click) Jim should sue! Haha. I so want that shirt! Where can I get one????

June 6, 2004

The Dirtbombs and Adult. will be releasing a split 7" together that will be available through Cass Records, according to an anonymous drummer. It's only a measly $6 for a split of all trades (including photographers). Keep your eyes open to CassRecords.com to buy.
The one year anniversary of this site is on July 6, so we need to do something cool... like sacrifice a few chickens... I dunno... think of something! If I lived in Detroit, yes, there would be a party at the Magic Stick, but unfortunately I am not in the 313 and a good 80 percent of those who visit the site aren't legal... So, as I said, think of somehting to do...

June 1, 2004
I find it really ironic/funny that Spin magazine added Mick in a list of underdogs. Has he not said it himself? New issue of Spin with the uber-cool Yeah Yeah Yeahs on the cover. Pick it up (scan the sidebar with Mick in it for me) and enjoy! I am sure Mick will do the same thing he did for the Cool List: read it, chuckle, put it back, and buy a copy of Times instead.

May 27, 2004
No school anymore! Yay! And as Ben once said, "School is for suckers!"
My job as Ben's official stalker has ended. It has been given to a girl who lives close to him who stalks him. Now HOW can I beat that??? Here is the link to a story she wrote just about it for my zine (which will be officially up on June 1)

May 26, 2004
I interviewed the Dirtbombs (or at least Ben, Mick, and Ko). Here's the transcript.

May 25, 2004
I am now the laughing stock of my public library. I forgot to take my copy of Horndog Fest out of the disc drive on a computer last night. I went to listen to it this morning and I realized I had left it there. I then went to the library to get my precious CD and asked the librarian if somone turned it in to Lost and Found. I told her that the disc had a picture of a naked cat and she laughed her butt off and asked the other librarian if he had seen it. He hadn't but laughed just the same. Embarassed, I head over to the computer I used yesterday. Alas, the disc was still in the drive.
In other news, more tour dates: 06.20.04.

07.18.04.

Okay, so after people kept bugging me about it, I have decided to share the photo booth pictures Ko gave me. The photo strip is posted on the photos page. PLEASE ask permission before snatching this. I will beat you mercilessly with your own limbs if I find it posted anywhere other than where I said you could!
Also, Kevin (aka, Twitch at the forum) has offered to take my tape of the Orlando show and send me back a CD with it on there so I can upload the songs to my website. He will also be sending some songs from the Atlanta show. Thanks to Kevin!!!

May 18, 2004
Since there have only been three people to give me suggestions so far, we have come to a conclusion that something about the fact that there are two drummers and two bass players in the band should be on the shirt. Come up with ideas, FAST! Here is one of them:

FRONT:
...Because one drummer is NEVER enough!
Nor is one bass player...

As I didn't get a shirtless rendition of "Dirt" from Benny boy, someone graciously sent me a photo. Man, oh man I get excited sometimes!

So, ANYWAYS, I feel lame. I mean, who's mom sends an email to her child's favorite band saying thanks for giving her a good time? My mom!
Again, ANYWAYS, I added a mailing address to the about page. You can send me presents, live photos you can't scan, anthrax and the like!
I am working on teeshirts for the website to raise money for a domain name, so if you have any cool designs or slogans, email them to me. A poll on the forum will ensue after I get a few in. The winner will get a free shirt. RAWK! (I do have one design Lee made, and that is definately one of the shirts. It's the logo on the intro page).
Going around school singing "Who could have turned Granny's chicken in to chicken a la king?" is REALLY REALLY fun!

May 14, 2004
The Dirtbombs will be playing the Rock City Music Festival behind the Majestic complex on June 19th. The show is free, so anybody within a six hour drive must go, or you will answer to me! (Take pictures! LOTS!) A little bird told me that a certain blonde drummer will be playing with another band... go and you shall find out. My lips are sealed!
I also added photos in the new photo section ("Photo Ops", pictures of you with the band and "Miscellaneous" for pictures of the Dirtbombs that aren't live) from the show I went to. I will have more photos developed soon. I took five rolls! Yet again, please ask before you pinch these photos!
I also added photos of Lane Sowinski with the Dirtbombs. Email me if you want these photos. Lane will hunt you down if you take without permission!

Later on May 13, 2004
Also, please visit this link to read the editorial about the tour in Australia by Blackwell for the Metro Times

May 13, 2004
I met a lovely lady by the name of Jen Cray at the show. She's an awesome photographer from Orlando who gave me permission to use her photos on my site. Therefore, the Photo section is up and running. Please do not use these photos without miss Cray's permission, okay? And do yourself a favor and visit her website, okay?

Wow. A-Flocking-MAZING! Too many things happened that night, man. I will have a seprate page with nothing but photos and stuff about that show later when I get the pictures developed. All I can say is that it was the best live show I have ever seen and the guys (and Ko and Dorian) were very, very, very nice and I owe them my soul. I did write all giddily on my LIvejournal. WARNING: Photos are horrible. My hair is down and I look like crap.

Lookeee at what I found! (click)"Executioner of Love" - Robyn Hitchcock Rawk! (Background info.: For those of you who were asking, this song is available on Hitchcock's album, Eye)

Later on April 28, 2004
I added a discography page, although it is not done. I will be working on it. If anyone has cover art for any singles, please email them to me. I also added an about page that includes a pic of me and Leila-Anne (co-Webmistress and Forum Administrator) and our emails and a mailing address will be added soon (so you can send me gifts!)

Woohoo! I got good grades after all! SCORE!
I got a nice email from a fellow fan and I'd like to share it. Listen up people:
I was recently on a message board when someone actually put down Jim's record producing skills. I was shocked. I mean, honestly, if Jim weren't as good as he is, I don't think Ghetto Recorders would still be around! Just thought I'd like to share how stupid some certain fans of red and white wearing duos can be!
-Candice

Well, thanks, Candice. You should have added that without Jim, there would be no White Stripes as we know it because you are sure Jim (because he is Jesus) had some sort of influence on Jack's producing skills.

I am so dead. It's not even funny.
I thought the Orlando show was the twentieth. Nope. It's the tenth. Guess who has less than two weeks to get her grades up?
In other (but kind of related news), the Witches' TROY GREGORY is filling in for Jim the next few shows, as Jim has this thing called... man, what's it called? Oh! A record studio...

I am going for a vintage feel for the site. Ya like?
So, anyways, I had to pull teeth, but Evert (our homeboy) finally told me what songs are on the Dirtbombs/Gories split. The Dirtbombs: "King's Lead Hat", The Gories: "There But For The Grace Of God Go I". Rawk!
Benny boy has further proven that he too can influence 15-year-old girls to want to write for a living as well (that 15-year-old girl shall remain nameless) when he wrote two White Stripes book reviews for the Metro Times. (click >)Benny, you are a gentleman and a scholar!
I do apologize for the lack of news archives, however I was told this site was beginning to be more like a giant blog. Therefore, I shall keep this to only Dirtbombs related news and keep my crushes out of this. Toodles... Holly
