EARTH DEFENCE FORCE

These are desperate times... we are the desperate measure.

Warren rimmer/ Chris Thompson

Warren Rimmer is a man with no past, found as a baby during a raid on a believed smuggling center on earth. Warren was taken in by a scientist and only returned to earth when he was 11 in order to attempt to blend in with his own kind and try to figure out who he really is, now 24 he was considered to be the perfect first member of the EDF.

Accomplished at flying small craft and driving and fluent in 3 alien launguages Warren always takes a cautious and strategic approach to things though incredibly stubborn when his beliefs are challenged.

Chris Thompson has been making and writing films scince he was 10 , and specialises in special effects, He is the orgional creator and writer of EDF.

His hobbies include filmaking, running, Sci-fi tv (thunderbirds, Star Trek etc), bizzare light hearted humour and the color blue.

Joe Lausard/ Guy Taylor

One of the few people actually approached by the ISA to join the Earth Defence Force. He was first spotted when collaborating with a group of aliens (unbeknownst to him, ) in an attempt to break into the Louvre gallery in France. The target was a sculpture, thought to have been from 1830s France but actually containing an energy crystal hidden inside, and although Lausard did a good job of removing it from its hiding place the attempt was thwarted by ISA operatives who didn’t want the crystal to fall into the hands of mercenaries working for the Draconian Empire <please note – it was due to incidents such as this one, requiring ISA intervention, that the decision was taken to set up the EDF in the first place>. During the course of this operation, Lausard discovered that he was working with non-human lifeforms. He also managed to evade the ISA after the rest of the aliens were captured, and he disappeared. After three months on the run he was found by the ISA who decided that they could use a man of his resourcefulness and determination, and he was offered a place in the newly-formed EDF.

Guy is EDFs composer and is the lead member of a band named SRG (http://-somerandomguys-.bebo.com)

GABRIEL DRAKE/ CHRIS BELL

Tristan “Gabriel” Drake was a RAF pilot who consistently saw lights during coastal patrols but was grounded on account of mental instability. Desperate to find out what the lights where he stole a plane and stumbled into the preliminary testing area for the EDF’s Starlances, in an attempt to escape his plane ditched at sea but was rescued by the EDF. With nothing left to go back to he joined the EDF as one of the Chief pilots. Often bad tempered and determined to get his way, he usually employs a brute force approach rather then spend time thinking things through.

Chris Bell gave forward some of the conceptual ideas for EDF, In his spare time he  plays judo and rugby.

JOHN ASHBRIDGE / JOHNNY MASEFIELD

Low-level CIA desk officer John Ashbridge was following up leads in a case using a computer when he noticed an unusual trail of information that didn’t seem to make any sense. He noticed that all of these anomalies appeared to be focusing on space projects, programmes and ideas for the UK, Europe and the world in general. Fearing a leak, he investigated further and discovered some startling things. He attempted to alert his superiors to his suspicions but before they could react he disappeared. He had been actually been ‘removed’ by the ISA to protect the security of the emerging Earth Defence Force. Wiping his memory and returning him was not an option as he had already succeeded in tipping off his superior officers, but at the same time he was highly skilled at using electronic systems and was able to work well under pressure. He was offered a position in the EDF and accepted, with the alternative of losing his memory and then his credibility. With basic bomb and flight experiance and training he is adapting well to the change.

Johnny Masefield  is a writer and badminton /tennis player in his spare time. He is currently writing a book entitled 101 things to philosithise about before you die.

Alex Lennier/ Michael Kinahan

Paramedic Alex Lennier was off duty when he witnessed a drive-by shooting one day. As a qualified doctor, he attempted to help, but on trying to administer first aid he discovered that the victim was not human. His confused radio call for assistance was intercepted by the ISA and a team were dispatched to resolve this ‘problem’. He showed a fast understanding of the situation and endeavoured to escape; however he didn’t get far. In light of this, and realising the need for a trained medical officer, the ISA decided not to wipe his memory, but instead to recruit him into the EDF. He embarked on a training programme to bring him up to speed with all he would need to know, and has proved an adept and capable learner, if not the most sensible at times.

Michael kinahan enjoys tennis and badminton his first appearance in a movie was medival wars.
