.:: BLOODY ROAR 1 & 2: What happened? ::.

***********************************

Bloody Roar 1 starts off with us finding out about a special breed of humans who can transform into animals--the type of animal varying but more or less depending on the person's own temperament. These beings are called Zoanthropes and they have co-existed with human beings for more than centuries, living under their nose by keeping their beast power a secret. Only legends and myths of such humans existed until the bio-tech organization, Tylon, came into being. It's purpose was to use the Zoanthropes super human power, speed and stamina for their own vile purposes. To stop this degrading act and protect the dignity of their kind, Zoanthropes oppose this powerful organization and this is where the characters in the game fit in.

The following are the official part of the storyline (I will only talk about those characters that are regulars of the series, that is Yugo, Long, Alice and Gado):

1- Yugo's dad goes missing and he is out there looking for him. His search eventually leads him to Tylon's secret base.

2- Gado is looking for his friend (Yugo's dad) and his search leads him to the Tylon's base.

3- Alice was kidnapped but managed to escape. Her friend, Uriko (who was kidnapped with her), fails to escape and is recaptured. Alice has no choice but to go back to rescue her.

4- Once Long's sister is killed revenge against Tylon (the people whom he actually worked for) is the only thing left for him...to redeem himself.

The following is my hunch over what happened in a nutshell:

Once Yugo Ogami (the main character) finds out that his father went missing he goes on to search for his father. He eventually runs into numerous other Zoanthropes, each with their own agenda. He eventually fights Fox and finds out about Tylon. Why is say this is because from the intro it is very obvious that Fox and Yugo are on a collision course.

He and Alice become friends (and Alice falls for him) during this time when they are both looking for Tylon with her seeking Uriko and he looking for his dad. A common enemy and identical paths. Notice she says, "after all we've been through" to Yugo in Bloody Roar 2 in her story mode. Obviously she is referring to what she and Yugo went through in Bloody Roar 1.

Another person who Yugo must have encountered as Long as from the story mode in Bloody Roar 2 it seems that Yugo knows him pretty well. Notice he says, "Long! You too?!" when he initially confuses Shen Long with Long, thinking that Long has gone back to his evil ways. It is pretty obvious that Yugo has a lot of respect for Long.

Now comes the tricky part:

Yugo eventually finds the Tylon base and infiltrates it. After defeating the resistance and the regular goons he ends up facing the Tylon's strongest weapon: were-chimera-Uriko. He fights and then defeats Chimera-Uriko. The fight is tough and brutal but Yugo manages to defeat her. The whole building is wrecked in the process (notice the chaos in Yugo's BR 1 ending. Notice also that in his ending the whole lab is burning...even before he goes on to destroy it). Once chimera-Uriko is defeated and he finds out from Gado that his father is dead, Yugo destroys the base, not wanting anyone else to fall victim to Tylon like his father did and also stop their evil plans for good. Notice that in Yugo's ending it is very obvious that he is the one who destroyed the Tylon base in the end. Even his Bloody Roar 2, prologue starts at this point when he destroys it. So this much is certain.

My hunch is that in the end not only did Yugo make it to the Tylon base but Alice too. Why i think so is because in the Bloody Roar 2 story mode, Alice is mentioned more than once to have fought valiantly against the Tylon organization. So either she tried to help Yugo against Chimera-Uriko as much as she could (as Chimera-Uriko seemed too powerful to fight alone especially in her Zoanthrope form) or Alice fought valiantly along side Yugo when they were trying to find out answers over where the base was located and when they were infiltrating it. On the whole i think the later is the more likely part.

What is known is that eventually Alice and Yugo were separated. The explanation of this is that probably Alice couldn't carry on further as infiltrating the lab itself was a hell of a task itself or she was eventually KO'd by Chimera-Uriko if she was fighting her alongside Yugo. What is to keep in mind again, is that when it is all said and done, Yugo is the one who defeats Chimera-Uriko (see two paragraph above). The fight between Chimera-Uriko and Yugo must have been a HELL of an intense fight and i think by the time when chimera-Uriko was finally defeated, the whole lab was damaged badly. In the on going chaos Alice and Yugo are separated, the proof of this being that there is no sign of Alice in Yugo's BR1 ending.

[Note: Alice is separated from Yugo but manages to find Uriko. We know this as an official fact. We also know (officially) that Mitsuko did succeed in rescuing Uriko. So I think Mitsuko joined Alice aid Yugo in his fight against chimera-Uriko and like Alice wound up being KO'd. Either this happened or when the Tylon lab was wrecked up after the Yugo/Uriko fight she and Alice found Uriko (in her normal child state now) and took her home. Mitsuko must have noticed Alice and Uriko's sisterly attachment to each other and must have decided to adopt Alice eventually...something she officially did eventually do.]

Long too must have been around but I don't think he was with Yugo and Alice in the beginning when they were searching for the Tylon base. I think he only showed up in the end and helped Yugo fight Uriko, or at least Long helped around as long as he could. Since he is the side-kick of the series, he must have been around helping Yugo in the final battle before being KO'd.

Gado probably missed most of the action. I think by the time he infiltrated it he was met with little resistance. By the time he made it inside the base, it was wrecked up because of the Yugo/chimera-Uriko fight. Gado is surprised to see the Tylon lab members defeated and their main weapon (Uriko) defeated too. He sees Yugo and finds out that in fact Yugo has done all that. Why i say this is because even in Bloody Roar 2 Gado says to Yugo, "so it seems that you beat me to it again". This is a clear hint to the fact that Yugo defeated Tylon goons before Gado could. Gado then tells Yugo that his father has been killed and since Yugo has nothing left, he destroys the lab so that no other children like him are orphaned again and no one has to undergo the same fate as his father.

[Note: some of the other Zoanthropes like Mitsuko, Greg etc. probably showed up at Tylon lab too, having their own agendas. However, I think that either they failed to infiltrate the lab (as it was heavily guarded) or were defeated by Uriko if they got inside and tried to aid Yugo. All in all i think that in the end Yugo was the only one left to defeat Uriko which he eventually does.]

If you play BR 2 story mode you get to know a lot about the characters. However as can be understood, some part of the story mode is true for everyone and other is "what-would-have-been type". The endings are true (except Shen and Busuzima's) but some part of the in-between story is not and is more like a 'would have been'. So here are a few things I would like to clear out for you:

·              Yugo is the hero of the series and the central figure. BR 2 is basically HIS story and how he goes on to find Kenji and becomes the new leader of the Zoanthropes. So it is best and logical to follow HIS story and consider it the most accurate and original.

·              Gado goes on his mission to the ZLF base single handedly (Jenny's story mode) but is captured. In her ending he is shown sitting with her all wounded. Even in his own story mode Jenny mentions that he hasn’t 'healed'. So obviously this is accurate and so Gado WAS captured. Gado is out of the picture.

·              Shina went single handedly to the ZLF base (dumb ass dad…dumb ass daughter). Now if she did actually beat everyone up why didn't Gado select her to be the leader? This means that she was obviously captured when she went to the base. Shina is thus out of the picture.

·              Jenny finds out that Gado has gone to the base and goes after him. But Gado himself was captured and this means that obviously Jenny was too, since she herself admits that Gado is the tougher than her (if u lose to Kenji as Jenny she says "even Gado wouldn’t have stood a chance"). Jenny is out of the picture.

·              Stun was visited by Gado and later by Jenny. After meeting Jenny he decides to get his head out of his ass and do something. He goes on to look for Busuzima but eventually runs into Yugo. Now I said that the best option is to follow the storyline of the hero. Yugo is the hero and in his story mode he fights and then defeats Stun...and then Stun tells him the address to the base, as now after the beating he received, he couldn’t go there himself. Now officially Yugo does make it to the base so obviously he must have gotten the address from Stun and according to his story mode he got it AFTER BEATING Stun. So this leaves out. Probably Stun goes there later and burns the whole place down as is shown in his ending and in others ending (in many endings the lab is shown to be burning and so it is logical to assume that Stun is the one behind it).

·              Kenji/Bakuryu is actually shown getting captured not only in his own story mode but also that of Yugo's and that is the whole damn reason behind Yugo's expedition. Nothing more to say here. Kenji/Bakuryu out of the picture.

·             Uriko does team up with Long and they go on to search for her mother together. Now in Uriko's story mode she fights and then beats Shen Long as Long is having trouble looking at Shen Long cuz it reminds him of his sinful old self (sorry excuse by the way). But Shen Long and Long are the ones who fight (as it is even shown in the story mode intro) so it obviously means that Uriko lost which then forced Long to fight. Uriko is not captured as such but just gets her ass kicked by Shen Long.

·             Yugo is mentioned to have been captured only in Alice's story mode and when she finally beats Shen Long and Busuzima she meets Gado who tells her that HE freed Yugo. Obviously this is a 'would have been' since Gado himself was captured.

So the question: who beat Shen and Busuzima?

My hunch is that Long defeated Shen Long while Yugo defeated Busuzima. Shen is even shown fighting Long in the intro of the story mode and they are on a clear collision course. Yugo probably kicked the snot out of Busuzima as he and Busuzima are on an obvious collision course as his, Kenji's and Busuzima's story mode is interconnected, just the way Long, Shen Long and Uriko's story mode is interconnected.

  So what happens then?

Well my hunch is that obviously Yugo must've defeated Busuzima and on the other side Shen was defeated by Long. Shen is shown killing himself in his own ending. however this can't be true since he is alive and kicking in the other series so apparently he lost to Long. It would only make sense anyway. Notice also that Yugo and Long are two of the three people Gado comes to asking for them to be the new Zoanthropes leader. So they must have stood out from the rest prompting Gado to give them this proposal. The other person who was given this proposal to was Alice.

As far as I see it, Alice goes around looking for Yugo and runs into him but Yugo manages to avoid her (i doubt he would fight her and even if he did he won't go all out. the usual annoying, dumbass, crap, irritating, abused, prejudice against guys that says guy-cant-hit-a-girl-but-girl-can). However Alice does find out from him that he is looking for Kenji and Jenny had already made her face her feelings for Yugo. Alice tracks Yugo down and probably assists him in his fight against Busuzima or was the one who freed the others while Yugo and Long took out the two ZLF head goons.

Again I would mention that Gado would only ask these three to lead the Zoanthropes if they managed to stand out in a way and what better way to do so than by kicking the crap out of Busuzima and Shen Long.

Alice and Long turn down Gado's offer as both have other plans for their lives. This leaves Yugo behind and this is exactly what he does.

***********************************

DID YUGO LOSE TO JENNY?

Let's see, Jenny is the first person Yugo runs into in his story mode. This must have been true since that is the only way he could have found any lead to the ZLF guys. She picks a fight with him or rather he fights her cuz she starts mocking him. Now we know that Yugo wound up in Alice's hospital right after getting ambushed by Busuzima and he ran away the moment he comes to. He was unconscious after Busuzima's ambush and the only way he could then have gone to the hospital would be that someone took him there (he obviously didn't go there by himself cuz he was unconscious to begin with. Dah! Also as soon as he came to he ran away from the hospital so it shows that he didn't go there himself). So obviously the person to send Yugo to Alice's hospital would have been Jenny (she says herself in Alice's story mode) but not because she beat him and hospitalized him. She found him unconscious in the streets after Busuzima jumped him and arranged for him to be taken to the hospital. That is all. she did this cuz she wanted to hook up Alice with Yugo. She NEVER EVER beat him. Yugo never returned to the hospital later so there is NO chance of Jenny beating him and sending him there.
