| Just wanted to say hi and let you know I am still alive and itnerested in Zetapets. Maybe not thise version- but I'm getting pretty pumped for v3. Few quick announcements: 1. This site is no longer updated. Don't bother requesting layouts or info, sorry guys ^^ Feel free to use the shoutbox as a chat, but keep it appropriate and rememer other people can read it too :P 2. I was thinking about "lending" Zetalia to another owner, untill I realized most of the info will become invalid once V3 comes out. But that seems like it still might not be for quite a while because... 3. OMYGOODNESS THIS IS AMAZING v3 DEV BLOG *drools Honsely zetapets won't be the same again. *winks at Tigress* If you plan on opening a few days early for VIP guests.. I'm pretty famous, amirite? *looks around with big eyes and glamorous smile* 4. I'm stil being covetous and not sharing my rare items XD 5. Sorry to you guys about the submission contest.. honsestly, I just couldn't keep up, and people kept just copying the lists from the "search" panel. I never ended getting any of them up anyways, but I think I managed to give reqards to the first couple of people x) Again, much apologies! 6. | I was mopping at work, and suddenly I had a great idea. I couldn't wait to get home and finally have a use for the 3.7 million zp just sitting in my bank! I'm holding a "contest" for submitting info to Zetalia on the zetapets forum. If you think and work hard, you could get over 100k! You don't even need any html skills for certain parts. Things I'm looking for in submissions are lists, corrections/updates/info, tutorials and layouts. Check out.... this thread here for the Zetalia submission contest!. | |

Hopefully you've seen the new update, Tigress (lead programmer, and main artist for v3) has made. She's been working on the new pet redraws for v3, and you may have seen some of her work in the polls before. The newest update is Elemental Pets, which when you can change your pet gives you a slight advanatage/disadvantage in battle, and a cool new color.

Tigress on Elemental PetsYou'll be able to make your pets into elementals in v3, although not all elementals will be available initially (due to the fact that there's six images required per pet - that's a lot of images!) "Will you be able to switch your pet's elemental?" Nah, elementals are a permanent change. The advantage in battle generally won't be significant enough such that the sheer brute force of an elemental will beat a skilled normal pet. There are some differences which change how elementals fight in battle, though. And some elementals even suffer stat reductions as a result of their transformation. For example, the tempest Zethyc is able to fly in battle, which completely changes its style when fighting, but it also suffers a hit to its strength and its defense. It's basically a way of having a Zethyc (which is played as a ground pet in its normal form) but playing it as a flying pet. "How will you change your pet's elemental?" It's not really decided how you'll change your pets to elementals yet. All pets start out in their normal forms; changing them to elementals is like changing their colour, except more difficult (but it's more than an aesthetic change, obviously). "I don't like that the Zethyc is being changed from it's original style...." I dunno. I understand that the general appearance of the Zethyc is being changed completely, but I've always considered them to be more than just a pet on Zetapets to me - they're my brainchild, so to speak, and even if it's impossible to copyright or "own" ideas or concepts, I still consider myself somewhat possessive of the Zethyc and therefore its style. The Zethyc existed for at least a year as a creature that occasioned my doodles - long before it became a pet on Zetapets. I'm not too happy with how the Zethyc is drawn on Zetapets. I think it was released in 2005 or something, and I was a much worse artist back then than I am now, and I don't feel I did the concept, as it exists in my mind, justice with the drawing that exists currently for the Zethyc. .... The elementals are supposed to look different from the normal version. The Zethyc was originally based off the snow leopard and the lynx (and the redraw will still look like a snow leopard/lynx), but obviously there is some liberty taken with the elementals - for example the terran Zethyc is based on a tiger. There's some similarities to sabre toothed tigers in some of them too. And some really don't look like any species of big cat at all, like the hydral Zethyc. | |
