Many people who are concerned with voting issues have framed them in consumer terms, such as, if cash registers and ATMs can give me a receipt, why can’t voting machines? Or, if we give you our money and our votes, why can’t you at least have a complaint department?
Apart from a very few who are totally self-sufficient, growing their own food and generating their own power, we are all consumers. And now, more than ever, it’s the economy.
The Green Party, small to begin with, has little money and scattered energies.
The Democrats really let their voting base down. Twice.
If the economy crashes, as many economists are predicting, there are going to be a great many unhappy Republicans.
If we don’t want to be ruled by corporations, we have to unite as consumers. We can’t unite as workers, because we are all too often dependent upon the corporations for our jobs. We can’t unite under the banner of the corporate parties because they answer to the corporations, not to us. And the existing third parties haven’t found a way to appeal to the great mass of voters. As consumers we are the real foundation upon which the corporations exist. If we withdraw our support, they cannot continue to dominate us. If we unite, we can dictate the terms under which they may continue to exist such as, corporate responsibility, an end to corporate welfare, no corporate contributions to political parties, fair share taxation, and the consideration of people rather than just profits.
I'm a VERY low-income senior, and I'm angry about having been bilked for a lot of money by a multi-millionaire and the slick corporate party operatives behind him. If you feel that you've been lied to, let down, and have wasted your money on corporate party politics, join with me in helping get money out of politics. Read the platform, post to our forum, and then post a link to this page everywhere you can. Let your friends know about it. The Consumers party is the only party that wants your vote, not your money. We're going to show the professional politicians what amateurs can do when we're riled up. We're going to take our country back and outsource THEIR jobs for a change--let them swindle voters and rig elections someplace else. This is our country, and we're taking it back!
