January 15, 2008 - A Message From The Conspirators: 
Dear Fans, 

     The results of Kevin DuBrow's post-mortem and toxicology tests have been returned, stating somewhat inconclusively that his death was caused by a cocaine overdose. We are particularly shocked by this news, as we knew him to have been clean and sober for the last 6 years. But, as the creedo goes: Sex, Drugs, and Rock N' Roll.

Goodbye, Kevin. We'll, miss you, Brother.

November 29, 2007 - A Message From The Conspirators: 
Dear Fans, 

     Today is a sad day for us. Heavy Metal has lost one of its greatest stage personalities and we have lost a very dear friend. Kevin DuBrow of Quiet Riot fame was found dead on Nov. 25th in his bed of causes unknown. Official reports state that he had been dead for at least 6 days prior to the discovery. The cause of death will hopefully be revealed after the pending post-mortem and toxicology test, which could take anywhere from 6-12 weeks. There really is no way that we can tell his true story. It is impossible for us to give each event in his life its allotted weight, nor can we accurately depict in words how these events shaped his life. All we can do is mourn the loss of a friend. We, the staff of HBN, are only learning of this tragedy today as the unpleasant news reverberates through the music world. But we have the great distinction and honor to say that we knew him---on a semi-personal basis. In 2006, we tried to set up an interview with Kevin, but he declined. Imagine our surprise, though, when he stayed in contact with us! From his frequent emails, we saw a side of him far removed from his wild stage antics. Here was a man who believed in enjoying life in any circumstance, who believed in living healthy, and who counted you as a friend after the smallest introduction. He had the grand ability to make you feel like you were his closest companion. This loss is a deep blow. In observance of his death,, HBN will go into an indeterminite period of mourning, carrying only those articles which are related to this event. We'll close this sad update with a verse from Thunderbird, a Quiet Riot song written in 1983 in tribute to their friend and former bandmate Randy Rhodes who perished in a plane crash that same year. It is a sad irony that we must now dedicate this same piece to our friend.

Dear Fans,

Yes, we know... We've been AWOL for the last many months. We apologize. But rest assured, we have our usual array for excuses. Where to begin... Well, about midway through February,  the usual computer problems hampered our operation. The repair guy said something about needing new hard drive. This was clearly not an option, as all of our dearly beloved metal was stored there (where else would it be?). After many months of seemingly endless toil, we actually got the ol' technology box up and running by ourselves. Within days of this, our computer was hacked and our hard drive was consequently wiped and loaded with nasty viruses. In hindsight, we should've just bought a new one. So, whereas our computer was having technical issues before, we now have NO computer. We're now doing our best to keep HBN up and running through frequent use of the internet services provided by our glorious local public library (gotta love taxpayer dollars!). That being said, if we fall behind or are slow getting things up, be patient. We'll keep the rock going!

That's right, HBN is now the 25th best Metal website on the net!!!!!!!!!! You're probably all getting sick of hearing us say that we appreciate your support but it still remains very true. Without the steady support of our fans, all we'd have is a stack of noise complaints and nothing to show for it. Thanks a million, and rock on!

First things first--HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! 
Okay, so here's the scoop. As of last night, Conspirator A launched a page on myspace titled Hair Band Heaven, which will serve as an extension of HBN  for myspace users, and will also give us access to a wider variety of people to interview. It can be found at: http://www.myspace.com/hairbandheaven On the not-so-bright side of things,  we may have to delete our ever-faithful guestbook. For some strange reason, it won't let anyone sign it, so its purpose is null and void. The real tragedy of it is that if we do get rid of it, we'll also be getting rid of all the fanmail we've ever gotten; including those from Roughhouse, Kick Axe, Downtown Clown, etc. It will certainly be a great loss. But, like we always say, The sacrifice for metal knoweth no bounderies.

Sorry we're late again. For some reason, both the website AND our server have been down all week. NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS!!!
A.) We have some new banners for you to post all over the net!
B.) HBN has been voted as the 38th best Metal website on the net!!!!!!!!
C.) HBN has FINALLY started recieving official press releases directly from record labels and artists, thus putting us in the same league as SleazeRoxx.com, Glam-Metal.com, Hairball John, etc. The same sites that got us to start our own! 
D.) Through some awkward confluence of events, HBN has gotten to be good friends with Lillian Axe.
E.) If things work out, we'll have a video section on our website! That's right, we'll be opening our vault to the head-banging public!
On a serious note, without your support as well as your own continued devotion to metal, we wouldn't be where we are now, so we'd like to take this opportunity to openly thank all those who ever gave us their support. Because of you, we're that much closer to restoring Metal for future generations. In the immortal words of AC/DC, "For those about to rock, we salute you!"  Rock on, dear friends! Rock on!

Dear Fans,

Okay, so here's the story. A few months ago, our old mascot Hermanngüth (B's pet cat) got hit by a car, thus, we need a new mascot. After all, no self-respecting metal publication (or a metal anything, really) is without a mascot. Iron maiden is led forward by the famous Eddie, Fozzy has Arthur the pig, Def Leppard has...a deaf leopard, Grave Digger has their creepy compainion whose name we're unsure of, Quiet Riot had Jason's apparent little brother, etc., etc. So, in Hermann's place, and we realize that's a hard place to fill, we would like to introduce you to our new mascot, Steve. This one was A's idea. Steve is pretty much your classic "Undead Metalhead." Hope you like him.

May 12, 2006 - A Message From The Conspirators: 
Dear Fans,

This should prove to be a very interesting entry. First off, we sincerely apologize for taking so long in getting the website up to speed. Withholding the joys of metal from any living creature is a crime that should merrit a death sentence. Thankfully for us, it doesn't. Now, before a mob of angry metalheads decides to drag us into the public square and hang us while being forced to listen to Boy George, hear us out; We promise our reasons are legitimate. C and D have both decided to call it quits. We'll get into why in a minute. They have both been good friends of ours for many years, and we have seldom found individuals such as them. We shall always remain in awe of their passion and general knowledge of metal. And since you're all probably aching to hear the details, this is how it happened: C called us sometime on May the 8th and asked if he could leave the staff. At first we thought he was joking, and enquired as to why he would want to do a thing like that. He just said that it had all been fun, but now he wanted to focus entirely on his art work. We tried everything we could think of to pursuade him to stay on. We told him that what we did WAS art, and that without people like us, not only would the music disappear, but the legends would die, our heroes would fade, and the joy we felt and continue to feel would be replaced only by a hollow recollection of what once was. But, his mind was made up, and we knew there was nothing we could do about it. We were sad to see the back of him. You can check out his artwork here: http://thrak.deviantart.com/.  D is another story. We had a rather bitter difference of opinion that we won't elaborate on out of respect for her, but she decided not to speak to us again, so we left it at that. She was neither fired, nor did she officially quit. She's just not on the roster anymore. That leaves just us two psychos to do all the work around here. We can't promise that we'll do the same quality of work that C and D did, but we'll give it a whack.

We've got bad news. Apparently, someone has a claim to the winged skull in our logo, so we either have to come up with a new logo, or get sued. Since HBN  is written and maintained on a zero-dollar budget, naturally, we choose to make a new logo. We don't like this any more than you do, but the new logo will have a Flying-V guitar in place of the skull. It doesn't look as cool, but it still gets the "metal" across. Rest In Peace, skull logo! You shall be missed!!!
