Honey

Honey was our other first piggiy, who arrived with Taz in our home in May 2004.  Honey was so named because of her golden honey ring going around her tummy!

Honey was a very loving and kind piggy.  Her big eyes meant that every hug was a special hug.  Everytime someone felt low or ill, Honey seemed to know and would love sitting with someone to cheer them up.  Honey also enjoyed watching TV and films and rarely had "accidents" when she was out of her cage.

It was heartbreaking for everyone who knew Honey in October 2006 when Honey developed her first abscess in the side of her face.  An extensive operation left her with a huge wound.  With loving and tender care, and round the clock watches and feeds, Honey got back on her feet, only to be knocked down again in November 2006 with a further abscess lower down in her jaw.  An xray at that time revealed that the abscess was of bone origin.  However, it was again removed and packed and Honey struggled to get through the aftercare, but made it.

Honey was happy to meet Holly in December 2006 and enjoyed her Christmas.  However, in early January a third abscess appeared and it was at this point we let Honey go gracefully to Rainbow Bridge.
