He's the former head of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit and one of the first FBI profilers. John Douglas has helped capture many serial killers and interviewed many others.  Douglas was called in to help in the BTK case in the early 1980's and says he interviewed Dennis Rader in prison.

Attorney General Paul Morrison announced Thursday that a settlement agreement was reached in a case against Dr. Robert Mendoza stemming from the prosecution of the BTK killer. Mendoza is a Massachusetts psychologist who was hired by Dennis Rader's court-appointed attorneys to interview Rader. The alleged purpose of the interview was to produce a videotape to use for mitigation in sentencing. Instead, the tape ended up on the television show Dateline NBC.

The settlement effectively ends all of the wrongful death litigation filed by the families of Rader's victims. According to the paperwork, each is entitled to a substantial amount of money. Attorneys say that's not what the fight was about.

The former home of the "BTK" serial killer was reduced to a pile of rubble Wednesday morning. The house owned by Dennis Rader was purchased by the Park City last year.  At 7 a.m. Wednesday, crews began demolishing the house and loading the remains into four large trucks.  A police officer stood by to guard against souvenir seekers making off with pieces of debris.  Park city paid less than $60,000 for the house where Rader and his family lived for 25 years before he pleaded guilty to the ten killings.  The city wants to use the land to create a new entryway to Jardine Memorial Park.

Park City has bought the house that once belonged to BTK serial killer Dennis Rader.  The city plans to tear it down to provide an entryway to a small park just behind it, Mayor Dee Stuart said.  The city bought the house from Rader's former wife, Paula, for a little less than $60,000, Stuart said.

Roger Valadez died suddenly and unexpectedly Monday, nearly two years after becoming the victim of Wichita's most notorious case of mistaken identity.  Valadez, 66, apparently died of a heart attack, one of his lawyers said, just a month after receiving a $1.1 million verdict against a Wichita television station.

A Sedgwick County jury said Friday that KSN-TV should pay Roger Valadez $1.1 million for its coverage of him nearly two years ago.  Jurors found Channel 3's news staff acted outrageously and injured Valadez's reputation by naming him as a suspect in the BTK serial killer investigation in December 2004.
