Williams would be the chief of police and Heldman
publisher of The Eagle in an unlikely partnership that
would tell the story of one of the nation's most

Wednesday morning. The house owned by Dennis Rader was purchased by the Park

loading the remains into four large trucks. A police officer stood by to
guard against souvenir seekers making off with pieces of debris. Park city
paid less than $60,000 for the house where Rader and his family lived for 25
years before he pleaded guilty to the ten killings. The city wants to use
the land to create a new entryway to Jardine Memorial Park.

small community adjacent to Wichita. His apprehension came as a result of a
creative approach that used local media to maintain contact with the killer and
carefully manage the release of information about the case.
