4-wheel driving truck
This was purchased at extra cost with the loco. It is finished in a nice green livery with black strapping. Being 4 wheel, it is only 30" long, although this is more than adequate for one person and coal carrying capacity. The wheels are fully dual sprung, and it rolls like a dream. It is also equipped with a speedometer, which will be great once in full service!
Sadly, during its first day in service (16th January 2005) the wagon was involved in a derailment and the carrying limit is now 10 stones. So, bracing will be required before Chris can get back on the wagon. Another plan is to place another fitting on the wagon for the speedometer.
The wagon has had a major upgrade featuring new strapping, dummy axleboxes and a new, higher seat. It returned to service on April 24th 2005.
Pictures before the rebuild can be found on the fleet page, with the wagon behind the steam loco 'Christine Mary'.
Here are the shots of it after the rebuild.
