Building the Howell Education Foundation

HEF sponsors trips, camps, scholarships,      other educational programs

The Howell Education Foundation's goal is to encourage students to fulfill their dreams and reach their full potential. Each year, the Foundation will sponsor field trips, science camps, scholarships, incentive and recognition programs, and more - all designed to enhance each student's classroom learning with unique educational opportunities.

Plus, the Foundation is rapidly developing relationships with local businesses for on-site student visits, special presentations, and hands-on learning. These special opportunities are designed to engage the imaginations and curiosity of students to foster a life-long desire to learn, and expose them to career choices.

To avoid the necessity of yearly fund raising, the Foundation will rely on an endowment fund. Our goal is to grow the fund into a $2,000,000 endowment, using the interest it generates to fund future educational programs. This approach provides financial backing for the development of new educational opportunities, and allows us to maintain current programs. However, in order for this plan to work, we need to grow the fund at a rate of $250,000 per year to reach our long term goal. In other words, we need your help to make this plan successful...

To get involved, please call the Howell Education Foundation today at (517)-546-7308 and make your contribution to our children's future today!  Or visit http://www.howelleducationfoundation.org/

HEF Grant Applications

The intent of this grant is to encourage classroom educators and to support and enhance your curriculum by offering extra educational opportunities. Field trips, special supplies and other incentives that bring your curriculum alive may encourage and engage learners by exposing them to practical applications of your educational specialty. In a continuing effort to support Howell student scores in the Michigan Scholars Program, we offer these grants specifically to elementary and middle school classroom teachers. Our focus is intended to enhance, but is not limited to, the math and science areas. There may be cases where we can only support one section of your project budget (bus, entry fee, supplies, etc.)  To fill out an online HEF Grant Application, visit http://www2.howellschools.com/foundation/default.aspx
