P.S. I received a question about my background music.  The background music is from Kingdom Hearts: The Beginning.  It was the only background music that I thought went with the Avatar theme, for I could not find anything else.  By the way, I'll be more than happy to listen to your comments as to what you want me to add to this website, for this is an ongoing project.

Chapter 21: Avatar Aang

I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't watched the episode.  Instead, you can watch it here on the website by clicking the link, "Watch Avatar Episodes" or on the links above.  This episode is part of the final battle against Fire Lord Ozai in the movie aired on Nickelodeon, called "Sozin's Comet: Final Battle." 

Aang is the main protagonist of the series and is the last Airbender.  This twelve year old boy (technically 112 years old) is the Avatar and it's his duty to master all four elements to bring balance between the four nations.  When trying to solve problems, he's quick and clever.  Aang has a very deep respect for nature, for he is a vegetarian.  Very childish and naive, Aang is more into adventure and fun instead of trying to learn the elements.  However, throughout the series, Aang begins to mature as he learns more about the world around him along with the elements.  He's also in love with Katara. 

Katara, a 14 year old girl, is one of the last Waterbenders in the Southern Water Tribe.  The behavior of water itself kind of describes her personality.  Calm, soothing, and healing, but can be destructive when really tempered.  Katara is kind like a mother to her brother Sokka since her mother died in the hands of the Fire Nation.  She, along with her brother Sokka helps Aang to try to defeat the Fire Lord.

Sokka, 15 years old, is the brother of Katara and kind of the leader of the Southern Water tribe after his father left to fight against the Fire Nation.  Unlike his friends, he cannot bend an element.   He is very immature, although he is very clever and relies on science instead of the martial art of bending. 

Toph Bei Fong, 12 years old, is a blind Earthbender who "sees" with the help of the earth.  She learned Earthbending from the Badgermoles when she ran away, not as a martial art, but as an "extension of her senses," she says.  She left the luxury of her overprotective parents to come with the Avatar to teach him Earthbending.  Throughout the series, she learns what it's like to work together as a team.

Prince Zuko, 16 years old, is a banished Prince from the Fire Nation for his disobedience from the Fire Lord (which is his father) who thinks of him as a disgrace to the Fire Nation.  The scar on his eye is from his father Ozai at Agni Kai (a Firebending duel) and was banished to capture the Avatar.  Zuko at times has a very bad temper and is bitter to anyone who approaches him.  However, throughout the series, Zuko begins to have mixed feelings about himself and later on decides to abandon his family to join the Avatar to be his Firebending teacher and to help restore balance to the world.
