Les Folies Francoises
Le Théâtre de la Parole Lyrique & Le Concert Enharmonique join to present a spectacle "Les Folies Françoises”, celebrating the salon of 17th century Baroque France. Hear readings from précieuses texts in original accents, pièces de clavecin by court favorites F. Couperin and J. Ph.Rameau, airs de cours, dance and mime acts which will tell a story of 17th century love, based on the concepts of the Carte de Tendre. A candle-lit, intimate setting will be created to transport the audience into the atmosphere of this beautiful epoch! This performance, first presented at the Berkeley Fringe Festival 2008 in June, is returning for a repeat presentation by popular demand!
