About Us
Le Théâtre de la Parole Lyrique was founded in 2008 in an attempt to revive lost theater traditions, traditions that grew out of Ancient Greece and persisted until the 19th century.
The name of our company, which means in English "The Theater of the Musical Word," refers to the intimate connection between music and the spoken word. We attempt to marry these two arts and to create a seamless tapestry on which we paint the worlds of the past, present and future.
Le Théâtre de la Parole Lyrique perfoms plays both new and old, trying to build bridges between the past and the future. We believe that this is in the spirit of the ancient world and especially of the Renaissance and Baroque, to create new material on the the model of the old and to mix our dreams, hopes, visions and traditions with those of our predecessors.
