The Traitor, who when called up ignores the call up and hopes not to have to serve. A Christian who ignores the call up instruction to go into all the world and spread the good news will be rejected by God when he dies. See Matthew 12:30
The Quitter, who once called up arrives but runs away from the service as soon as the difficult part of being a Christian begins. Refer to all those that failed in the parable of the sower see Matthew 13:18 - 23
The Schloop, who once called up does all that is required of him but only in order to develop a relationship which suits his own purposes. These will be judged by the one who sees the reasons why we do everything we do. There is no reward for people like this they have not truly given their heart and lives to Jesus Christ. See 1 Samuel 16:7
The Back-biter, who is normally one who has been given earthly authority over someone else (even if this is within the Church (we have seen that no one is in authority over anyone else in the church) but some churches have this wrong) This person leads others to believe things which are not scriptural and so deceives them. When they fall into the trap laid by the lies, these backbiters simply blame someone else (often someone innocent) and then walk away as if they had nothing to do with it. God will be dealing very harshly with those who claim they have authority that they do not and just as harshly those who abuse innocent trust of those earnestly seeking God. See 2 Corinthians 11:12 – 15
The Coaster, who does the absolute minimum, sneaks off when ever possible, to do their own thing. They pretend not to hear the parts of the Bible that does not suit them, that requests they give more of themselves. They spend as much time as possible fulfilling their own desires. They do this to achieve a certain status, recognition or (heaven forbid it) ‘authority’ often within the very church they are pretending to attend. These will often see the negative in any new idea or challenging request that requires more work than before. See Matthew 24:45 - 51
The Interested, who tries to do as they should, but does not put their heart in to it. They merely do as they are told. But when given the opportunity to do what they are good at or to do something where others will depend on them, chooses rather to drop those asking for their help and do their own thing. See Revelations 3:15 - 19
The Elite, who always do all they are asked to the best of their ability and are driven by love for others and a desire to please their Heavenly Father. They do all things willingly, seeking the extra they can do for God that no one else will see. They are available and obedient to the Holy Spirit and are an example to others. They are soldiers for Christ and if called on to do it, would give their lives too.
See: 2 Corinthians 9:6 – 8; Romans 14:7 – 9; Hebrews 5:9; 2 Thessalonians 3:9; 1 Timothy 4:12; Matthew 10:37 – 39
