I would like to now explore the needs of all Humans first and how
we are made up.
Think of yourself as a set of 3 spheres one inside the other.
1. The Spiritual area of your life is the centre sphere.
2. The Emotional is your middle sphere within which
the spiritual sphere resides.
3. The Physical area of your life is the outer sphere or layer,
which is that area of your life through which you
experience this physical world.

- Friends, - Desires met, - Knowledge, - Intelligence, - Areas to still grow in. |
These are just some of these needs, what is important to note is that you are a complex creation.
In answering this we must refer to the table above. (The block where “Survival” (heading on the left of the table above) and “Outer Layer Physical” (heading on the top of the table above) meet is the minimum requirement for existence). A balloon can be popped easily because it has a thin outer layer. So too your physical layer can easily be penetrated. If that person has nothing in any of their emotional and spiritual blocks they are just like this balloon, having nothing but hot air within it. They have nothing to fall back on when they receive a hard knock. The impact of such a hard knock is often extremely serious.
On the other hand you have people who have Solid Spiritual, Emotional, and Physical layers who can handle the most horrific of life’s storms very easily. This is what we must strive to achieve.
Test yourself and see if you are living at Survival, Basic or General Need’s level. Test yourself in each of the areas of your life (physical, emotional and spiritual) The ideal is that all three should be balanced. If you are surviving in one area and General in another then you will be suffering.
The principle of testing yourself and measuring your progress is extremely important. To test yourself you need to measure yourself against a standard. The Standard is what the Bible says about each of these areas: You need to then take this standard and measure yourself according to it.
What is essential for your growth is that you make a commitment to repeat this exercise at regular intervals throughout your life.
You need to measure yourself at least once every 6 months to see how you are progressing. You will need to keep blank copies of the scoring sheets so that you can re-evaluate yourself.
Read the scripture References in your Bible and the measure yourself against these standards.
Each of the 5 spiritual needs should be scored out of 10.
1. Pray before reading further:
“Holy Spirit, You have been sent to teach me, guide and counsel me. Open my eyes to The Words of God for my life right now. Help me to see myself through Your eyes and to honestly judge where I am currently. Show me what I need to do to become what You want me to be. In the Name of Jesus Christ of
2. Read the Bible references for that one criterion. (Provided below)
E.g. Survival Eternal Salvation. (See Exercise 1 below).
3. It is important to remember that the self test table provides some scripture references but you can grow even further by using a Concordance and finding other scriptures to which you can also apply the criteria. I do not want to limit God Almighty in His walk with you by restricting you to the list in this book. So see this as a training ground upon which you will grow even more once the principles taught in this book have been entrenched in to your daily living.
4. Read one scripture passage right through. Write on a card, or underline in your Bible the verse(s) that speak about this criterion. Read these verses a few times over and write down whatever The Holy Spirit puts into your mind. Perhaps you are already doing or partly doing what The Holy Spirit has put in your mind and He might want you to learn to do it in another way. Perhaps you are not doing what The Holy Spirit has put in your mind at all. In almost every situation where you must change there will be something you will have to stop doing, people you should no longer associate with or a change that must come in the work you do or something similar. Write these down on your card or in the column in your Bible.
5. Score yourself on this Scripture.
a. You are given a total of 10 points before you start evaluating a part of your life.
b. If you are not doing, or only partly doing what The Holy Spirit has put in your mind score a minus 1 to be taken off the total of 10 for this criterion. (You will need to apply a bit more effort here)
c. If you are doing what The Holy Spirit has put in your mind or are doing it and see an opportunity to do even better then score a 0 to be taken off this criterion. (Well Done!!!!)
6. Read the next scripture and repeat points 4 & 5 until done. One Scripture reference a day is normally sufficient unless the Holy Spirit prompts you otherwise. Make this a habit as part of your daily schedule. And think about it regularly during the day.
Psa 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Psa 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Psa 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psa 1:4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
Psa 1:5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
Psa 1:6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Psa 1:1 Happy are those who reject the advice of evil people, who do not follow the example of sinners or join those who have no use for God.
Psa 1:2 Instead, they find joy in obeying the Law of the LORD, and they study it day and night.
Psa 1:3 They are like trees that grow beside a stream, that bear fruit at the right time, and whose leaves do not dry up. They succeed in everything they do.
Psa 1:4 But evil people are not like this at all; they are like straw that the wind blows away.
Psa 1:5 Sinners will be condemned by God and kept apart from God's own people.
Psa 1:6 The righteous are guided and protected by the LORD, but the evil are on the way to their doom.
7. The Bible is a book for life, so do not expect to just read it and pack it away. Read it and re-read it and re-read it. The purpose of the book I have written is to provide an understanding of why and how you should read the Bible so that you are able to grow correctly and in strength. You will then be able to become a reliable soldier in the Army of Jesus Christ – “The Church” … Enjoy.
I have provided the scriptures (using e-Sword Technology) for the first Spiritual Criteria in this section of the book as both an example and because it is the core to your spiritual survival.
Mat 24:3 As Jesus sat on the
Mat 24:4 Jesus answered, "Watch out, and do not let anyone fool you.
Mat 24:5 Many men, claiming to speak for me, will come and say, 'I am the Messiah!' and they will fool many people.
Mat 24:6 You are going to hear the noise of battles close by and the news of battles far away; but do not be troubled. Such things must happen, but they do not mean that the end has come.
Mat 24:7 Countries will fight each other; kingdoms will attack one another. There will be famines and earthquakes everywhere.
Mat 24:8 All these things are like the first pains of childbirth.
Mat 24:9 "Then you will be arrested and handed over to be punished and be put to death. Everyone will hate you because of me.
Mat 24:10 Many will give up their faith at that time; they will betray one another and hate one another.
Mat 24:11 Then many false prophets will appear and fool many people.
Mat 24:12 Such will be the spread of evil that many people's love will grow cold.
Mat 24:13 But whoever holds out to the end will be saved.
Mat 24:14 And this Good News about the Kingdom will be preached through all the world for a witness to all people; and then the end will come.
Mat 24:15 "You will see 'The Awful Horror' of which the prophet Daniel spoke. It will be standing in the holy place." (Note to the reader: understand what this means!)
Mat 24:16 "Then those who are in
Mat 24:17 Someone who is on the roof of a house must not take the time to go down and get any belongings from the house.
Mat 24:18 Someone who is in the field must not go back to get a cloak.
Mat 24:19 How terrible it will be in those days for women who are pregnant and for mothers with little babies!
Mat 24:20 Pray to God that you will not have to run away during the winter or on a Sabbath!
Mat 24:21 For the trouble at that time will be far more terrible than any there has ever been, from the beginning of the world to this very day. Nor will there ever be anything like it again.
Mat 24:22 But God has already reduced the number of days; had he not done so, nobody would survive. For the sake of his chosen people, however, God will reduce the days.
Mat 24:23 "Then, if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Messiah!' or 'There he is!'---do not believe it.
Mat 24:24 For false Messiahs and false prophets will appear; they will perform great miracles and wonders in order to deceive even God's chosen people, if possible.
Mat 24:25 Listen! I have told you this ahead of time.
Mat 24:26 "Or, if people should tell you, 'Look, he is out in the desert!'---don't go there; or if they say, 'Look, he is hiding here!'---don't believe it.
Mat 24:27 For the Son of Man will come like the lightning which flashes across the whole sky from the east to the west.
Mat 24:28 "Wherever there is a dead body, the vultures will gather.
Mat 24:29 "Soon after the trouble of those days, the sun will grow dark, the moon will no longer shine, the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers in space will be driven from their courses.
Mat 24:30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky; and all the peoples of earth will weep as they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Mat 24:31 The great trumpet will sound, and he will send out his angels to the four corners of the earth, and they will gather his chosen people from one end of the world to the other.
Mat 24:32 "Let the fig tree teach you a lesson. When its branches become green and tender and it starts putting out leaves, you know that summer is near.
Mat 24:33 In the same way, when you see all these things, you will know that the time is near, ready to begin.
Mat 24:34 Remember that all these things will happen before the people now living have all died.
Mat 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
Mat 24:36 "No one knows, however, when that day and hour will come---neither the angels in heaven nor the Son; the Father alone knows.
Mat 24:37 The coming of the Son of Man will be like what happened in the time of Noah.
Mat 24:38 In the days before the flood people ate and drank, men and women married, up to the very day Noah went into the boat;
Mat 24:39 yet they did not realize what was happening until the flood came and swept them all away. That is how it will be when the Son of Man comes.
Mat 24:40 At that time two men will be working in a field: one will be taken away, the other will be left behind.
Mat 24:41 Two women will be at a mill grinding meal: one will be taken away, the other will be left behind.
Mat 24:42 Watch out, then, because you do not know what day your Lord will come.
Mat 24:43 If the owner of a house knew the time when the thief would come, you can be sure that he would stay awake and not let the thief break into his house.
Mat 24:44 So then, you also must always be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you are not expecting him.
Mat 24:45 "Who, then, is a faithful and wise servant? It is the one that his master has placed in charge of the other servants to give them their food at the proper time.
Mat 24:46 How happy that servant is if his master finds him doing this when he comes home!
Mat 24:47 Indeed, I tell you, the master will put that servant in charge of all his property.
Mat 24:48 But if he is a bad servant, he will tell himself that his master will not come back for a long time,
Mat 24:49 and he will begin to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.
Mat 24:50 Then that servant's master will come back one day when the servant does not expect him and at a time he does not know.
Mat 24:51 The master will cut him in pieces and make him share the fate of the hypocrites. There he will cry and gnash his teeth.

Mar 16:14 Last of all, Jesus appeared to the eleven disciples as they were eating. He scolded them, because they did not have faith and because they were too stubborn to believe those who had seen him alive.
Mar 16:15 He said to them, "Go throughout the whole world and preach the gospel to all people.
Mar 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.
