THE AMISH GARDEN

~~~"SIMPLE COOKING MADE SIMPLY GOOD!"~~~
Gearing up for the Tour
     I am busy baking and making the Christmas flyers for the my upcoming "Christmas in Deutsch Country Tour."  Doubleday contacted me to let me know the posters were mailed today and the books for the Tour were mailed out Friday.  I absolutely love Doubleday.  Cory, who is my sales contact is just awesome.  I will be working on the November issue of The Amish Garden this week, too.  Since it is more of a recipe/Home Economics-type newsletter, I have changed the name to The Amish Garden.  I will have copies of the newsletter, as well as copies of my Amish cookbook for sale at each show.
      I am also bringing my line of homemade Amish sorghum, salsas, fruit salsas, pumpkin butter and jellies to sell  after each show.  And I couldn't have jelly with no bread, so I will be baking towards the weekend, probably about 100 loaves of Friendship Bread, Pumpkin Bread and Banana Bread, so you can have bread with your pumpkin butter and jellies.  If I get to my sister Mennonite community it time on Friday, I will have homemade rolls, too.  They make the best, moist rolls in the country!  I helped out there during the holidays when I was in college.  Uncle Arvin and Aunt Dorothy ( Uncle Arvin is the Pastor there) would come and get me on the weekends.  I sure miss those trips.
    I am very excited about my trip to Orlando, as Andrew and Andrea and the baby are coming to the show.  They are riding back home with me and spending the holidays.  I haven't seen baby Gabriel yet, so it will be a sure treat!  Baby Jason Rome Tinsley is at mom's tonight. I brought him some new navy socks and he loved them.  He likes sweet potatoes and bananas; anything that is sweet-tasting!  The Amish don't buy commercial baby food.  They make their own and it is very healthy.  I have enjoyed hearing from all of the readers throughout the North, whom are tracking through the potential snow to come to the show.  I am praying for your safety.  My readers are always in my prayers.  And as I end this late-night post tonight, lets remember that God is always in control and He is always with us.
Blessings ,
    Christmas in Deutsch Country Cooking Show Tour begins in November.  On November 3, we hit the open road to travel up North to Alcona, Michigan, snug on the boarder of Lake Huron, to present at their Public Library.  We then head a little West to Gaylord on November 4, to visit with those Library patrons there.  Finally, we fly down to sunny Orlando, Florida to stream live from the Main Library during my show.  I will have some traditional Amish Christmas goodies to sample, so come on out and watch the show, bring your whole family and get your cookbooks signed by me! Lastly, I will see fans at my Meet & Greet while visiting The Animal Kingdom at wonderful Disneyworld on November 9th.
Plan to see Oakland, California fans on March 11, of 2010, when I will be taping my show from the Main Library downtown.  One lucky patron will win lunch with me and my producer!
XOXO
