The Shimatori are the only beings considered to be the Children of the Souls. This means that a dark and terrible curse has been placed upon their heads. Every third Sunday, the five Shimatori are careful not to fight unless forced to do so, for this is the only day which the holy family are unable to be ressurected by their siblings. This is the day of the Holy Father, which is the only day which is active with the curse. The curse, placed upon them by their father no less, states that on a certain day in the near future, the five souls will be encased in concrete slabs and placed upon an alter dedicated to that demon. Once this happens, they await someone desperate enough to unleash their soul. The soul is released by the breaking of any one of the slabs, and at this time the Shimatori has a choice of wether to become the guardian of the soul who broke the slab, or to reinstate the curse, and relive their lives in the current time of the broken slab. Meaning if the slab is cealed in 2006 and is broken in 30009, then the Shimatori will live in the year 30009. They will not be placed back in the times of their original lives, but in this case, they are damned to the curse for another lifetime. The average lifespan of a Shimatori is about thirty thousand years or so, and the curse of the Children of the Souls lowers this time to about 10,000 years.
