DAVID A. FLANARY, JR.

Freelance Writer of Comic Books & More

ABOUT THE WEBSITE

I started this website in 2002 as a means for communicating my writing skills to potential publishers and collaborators.  My goal is to seek creative outlets for all of my writing, be it comic books, short stories, novels, or poetry.  I consider myself to be a multi-faceted writer, and love to write in genres that I have not yet thoroughly explored.

Due to the fact that I am a recent college graduate working a number of jobs, the time I can devote to writing is necessarily limited.  Nevertheless, I feel I am quite productive,  as anyone can see by taking a closer look at the various projects I'm juggling at this time.

If you are a writer or a comic book artist searching for a collaborator, or a publisher interested in acquiring my services, please feel free to e-mail me
HERE.

ABOUT DAVID A. FLANARY, JR.

I was born as David Allen Flanary, Jr. in West-Germany, and spent most of my life living in a small village located near the border between Germany and France. At age eight, I came into contact with Mark Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer for the first time.  My fascination with that particular story awoke in me the urge to become a writer.

In 1999, I returned to the United States, the home country of my father.

Today, I am an early-twenties college graduate residing in the beautiful and historical state of Virginia.  I hold a Bachelor of Arts in History, and minored in Political Science.  During my college years, I was actively involved in theater and wrote for a college newspaper.

In addition to a number of part-time jobs, I am Project Coordinator for the comic book publisher Dark Elf Designs, and continue to write in a number of genres.

The Gryphon, the very first comic book project I had the pleasure of writing, was published in May 2007 by Dark Elf Designs.  It is currently available at Indy Planet.

Bluewater Productions picked up the PistolFist: Revolutionary Warrior mini-series, which is set to return to comic book shops on July 23, 2008.
