The Fellowship of the Ring

Summary

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

According to the Book

It begins in the Shire with Frodo Baggins and Bilbo Baggin's (Frodo's uncle) Birthday. A well known friend Gandalf comes to town for a large birthday party for the two Bagginses. Almost all of the Shire had been invited! At the party Bilbo gave a speech in which he disappeared! What he actually did was put on a magical ring that made him disappear. So he went home packed up and decided to leave and go live with the elves. With Gandalf's strong advisory Bilbo left the ring to Frodo.

Months and years past with the ring in Frodo's Possession. When one year Gandalf returned and told Frodo that the Dark Lord, Sauron, had awoken and was looking for that one ring of power so he may rule all of Middle Earth. So, Frodo and his friends Sam and Pippin decided to  leave the town Hobbiton and make their way to Crickhollow where their friends, Merry and Fatty, were waiting. During their journey they were constantly hunted by strange Black Riders.

They finally reached Crickhollow where Merry joined them. They now went into the Old Forest the dwelling place of living trees. While they were in the forest they got lost, but luckily good old' Tom Bombadil came to their rescue.  After staying with him they crossed the Barrow Downs, and after, once again, being saved by Tom from the Barrow Wrights they arrived at Bree.

At Bree they met a ranger, Aragorn (Strider as they called him.) Strider led them out of Bree and took them into the wild, making their way to the elf city of Rivendell. They were constantly hunted by Black Riders (also known as Nazgul or Ringwraiths) They arrived at the great watch tower of old called Amon Sul or Weather Top. They were attacked not far from that hill, and Frodo got stabbed in the shoulder. They quickly made there way to Rivendell, but Frodo's wound got worse. Soon an elf named Glorfindel found them. He put Frodo on his horse, Asfaloth, and he brought him over the river of Loundwater while being chased by the Black Riders. At Rivendell he was healed by the elf lord, Elrond. At Rivendell a Fellowship was made to help aid Frodo on his now long journey to Mordor, Sauron's dwelling, to destroy the ring. The Fellowship consisted of Frodo, Merry, Sam, Pippin, Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas (elf), Gimli (dwarf) and Boromir (man). The fellowship made there way along the misty mountains for many days they then turned east towards the mountains and up Caradhras, but the mountain defeated them so they went under it in the dwarf mines of Moria.

In Moria they were attacked by a huge army of Moria orcs. They luckily escaped, but soon they were chased by a Balrog (ancient demon of Morgoth) . Unfortunately the Balrog and Gandalf fought, and Gandalf was lost down a giant abyss falling with the Balrog.

They then ,guided by Aragorn, entered the elf wood of Lorien where they were aided by Galadriel the elf queen. They gathered up their strength and soon left down the river Anduin. At the falls of Rauros they were attacked by orcs again. Frodo and Sam left the fellowship and crossed the river beginning their journey to Mordor alone. Merry and Pippin were taken by the orcs, Boromir dies, and Legolas, Aragorn, and Gimli followed the Orcs to try and rescue Merry and Pippin.
