W.C.T's newest bus was no 6 (Dennis Dart SLF). It is seen posed in front of the ships rudder landmark at the entrance to the town on the day of its launch, 28/2/2000. This shot was arranged by myself with the W.C.T management & was taken after business hours. The pic now appears on the company timetable.

A line up of some of the W.C.T fleet in the old Lacey st depot on 29/2/2000. L to R are buses 4 & 5 (Volvo B6's) / no 6 (Dennis Dart SLF) & no 46 (Volvo B10M3).

All photos were taken during a special visit to  Whyalla for the launch of the new bus (no 6). The company manager & staff were very welcoming with myself & a fellow enthusiast being invited to the launch ceremony as well as the special run around town, we were also invited to the luncheon held in the council chambers after the run.  I would like to suggest to enthusiasts visiting S.A that a visit to Whyalla is well worth the trip not only for the buses but also the rail activity on the narrow gauge ore lines. A visit to Pt Augusta & Pt Pirie would also make for a good trip north of Adelaide.

If anyone would like prints of the W.C.T fleet then please email me & I can arrange to get them done for the cost of reprints. My email address is the_inspector@ihug.com.au .
