The Fiddler's Daughter

Ikari y notrae do aret...

Eldinrâ-torh is the nearly complete history, stories, legends, and other such things of the Nõmárnin, dating from before they came to Nethro-kuin and to the land of Nõmárn. The complete Eldinrâ-torh is very extensive, and is not so much a thing as many things; in fact, there are rooms in every city full of the scrolls, books, pictures, and music of Eldinrâ-torh, and also the memory of the Nõmárnin themselves. However, there are parts of it that have been either lost or locked away, hidden from the eyes of those who are not of their race. Of these secrets the Nõmárnin do not say; and such, there are missing holes in their history, some small, some large. However, the rest of Eldinrâ-torh may be accessed by those who wish it and who have the correct authority, for it is their very past, and they must watch who handles it.

Much of the Eldinrâ-torh is related to the people, and the land; there are rarely stories of others. However, some of the legends and heroes of other lands have slid in and incorporated themselves when the Nõmárnin encountered them. For instance, the Legends of Caradsna, a hero from a bordering land, have a part of the history, as he played a role in it. Others, however, are related only to the Nõmárnin and nothing else. Preceding the period where they made contact with the other peoples of Midrâiun, the stories of different countries have had affects on their own legends and doings. Before that time (around 5.000 on their marking), however, their stories related only to themselves and the Nethro-kuin.

There will be excerpts from Eldinrâ-torh on this page in the near future; until the present, it will remain empty.
