First off Happy Birthday to my mom!  now for our trip to the states update.....

So my trip home was pretty good. Definetly not as relaxing as I had hoped but when is a vacation home supposed to be relaxing right? We really didn't do much per my request. I just wanted to shop, veg out on the couch, and be at the lake when we could. I think I accomplished that plan...oh and I had to go to Scrapfest as well! I think that was the absolute best part of my trip.

I loved being with my neices over the summer. The little one is so precious...oh how I have missed her! She took a few days to totally warm up to me but she definetly knew who I was that first day. When I finally got my first kiss it was a total score! I can't wait to see her again at Christmas. I wanted to bring her home with me...my stingy sister said no! How dare her! LOL Oh well she needed a passport anyways....maybe next time buahahahahah ;)
My other neices came in about a week after we arrived from Alaska...they have changed so much! The oldest (and my favorite cause she was my first) is almost 13 and as tall as I am! That's so wrong on many levels LOL. She was so fun though! Always making jokes and making up songs that would have you rolling! She even made me a pretty necklace...making jewelry is a hobby of her now! The other girl was just a pistol! She and Liv played together every day and just enjoyed one another! I can't wait to see them at Christmas too!  The whole family will be together for this year's holiday!
When we weren't at the lake just hanging out we stayed around my parents place. They set up a pool in the backyard that the kids just lived in! My little girl looks like that blonde coppertone baby with the nice dark tan and totally white little booty! LOL She even learned how to swim without her floaties! Such a big girl. All the kids are self taught swimmers so it was about time she tried it herself. She's still not great at treading water and keeping up that way but she's working on it, but let her hold her nose and go under and she's a fast little fish!
Shopping...of course I went shopping! I think I almost cried at my first sighting of Hobby Lobby...not really but I could have worked up some tears for effect LOL. I think once all was said and done with my shopping I sent home about 5 boxes to myself...and I'm talking large rubbermaid tubs for a couple of them...ask my best friend Heather she was there to see two of them sent off!
But now I'm back home...it was so nice to get back and into my own bed. The jet lag hasn't been too bad but we have been all sleeping in until almost noon every day. Ahh my summer sleeping-in dreams have come true! Soon we'll have to get ready for school schedules though and I'm not looking forward to that morning routine...but it must be done.
Scott is doing well...sometimes he's way to bored in Iraq and other times like today he's busy. Only 3 more months to go and he's home! He is studying for his officer qualifying test again (tests on the 24th...keep him in prayer for a good result). He hopes to CLEP a couple of classes this fall so he can finally be done with school.
There's the update in a nutshell...ahh it's good to be home!

We hope all of you are doing well and that you will take the time to shoot us a quick email now and then.  Please remember that as much as we love forwarded jokes we also would love to hear about family updates and see photos now and then too!

Take care, much love, and God Bless.
