FORD CONSUL ZEPHYR ZODIAC

consul zephyr zodiac mk11

Got in touch with the mc/r evening news after seeing an article on the m.g club and i put our club forward to get publicity so we might interest more people with 50s and 60s classic cars who are not on the internet to come along to our meets

I had left my car at brian's house the night before the meet and i got to brian's early so we could get to the club and organise the cars as they come in, when brian said he had made me jacket spud and chilli i couldn't refuse.

by the time i ate my food (thanks bri it was good of you and i'll be back for more) we were in a rush, i got to my car and realised i had forgot my keys, so we tried to get it started by bypassing the ignition and it wouldn't fire up so i had to race home to get the keys whilst brian went to the club to meet every one

on returning to the car it still wouldn't start so i checked to see if there was a spark to the plugs and there wasn't, so i checked the points and they weren't working, so i changed them and they still didn't work (by this time i was pulling my quiff off) then i went through every thing again and found the little wire in the distributor from the coil had burnt out so i had to leave the car where it was and head for the club so that is why i was late

thanks to everyone that did turn up as it turned out to be a rainy night and not very good to be driving a classic. also a big thanks for brian for your organisation again (he's so organised i hate him) we had the regulars who turn up all the time and didn't get in the paper brian, bernie, jim, norman, wayne r, paul g and newbee mark f. and then we had a rare visit from the other paul who turned up late and still got the best photo and i'm sure there was someone else......haaa i know wayne p he didn't get a photo because he turned up as the photographer was leaving. hmmm!
