The Electic Shakedown Project are an Folk/Electro music group. They formed in Berlin, England in 1986 and disbanded in 1993, then reunited in 2004. The Shakedown found only modest success in their home country, but were significantly more successful in Finland and elsewhere in Europe.

Edward Napoleon (vocals, guitar), Chico Martini (lead guitar), Johnny Smith (bass guitar), and Pete3000 (drums) have been the group's continual members. Their melodic music is distinctive, but draws upon elements of Electro, with occasional touches of Folk and other genres.

Napoleon was the group's primary songwriter and singer; with a distinctly weak and wobbly delivery, he typically wrote cryptic songs about offbeat subjects, such as The Hulk, Star Trek and Kevin Bacon. Strong imagery and references to old men feature highly in much of his work.
