Wolverines First
We were formed in the dark ages, by a mercenary warlord Garlan, many years before the formation of the Gathering treaty. Garlan had always worked alone, fighting here and there, but his fame became such that he amassed followers, and a small regiment was formed.
Their battle prowess was tested many times over the years, and under the leadership of Garlan they were never defeated. Years after his death the warband split, settling into smaller groups, some even retired and settled down.
Some years after the break up of the original Wolverines, Tiamat a descendant of Garlan, reformed the warband and like all mercenary companies they fought for gold and fought under many different banners. Payment of one contract was a region of land, called Naseby in the northwest corner of Albion. The Wolverines relocated and fought many battles on the borderlands, eventually helping to form the Harts as they are known today. While the warband spilt the blood of their enemies and drank their beer, courtiers would dwell on the Wolverines rough manners and violent methods rather than reward them for good deeds done. It was often commented within 'polite' circles that the savage Wolverines should be kept in a chest, marked 'Open in the event of War'. To this the Wolverines would just laught and shout their battle cry of 'BOLLOX'.
After years in Albion, the Wolverines entered a state of flux, some wanting to leave and return to their mercenary origins and others tired of constantly waging wars. For the second time in the Wolverines history, the warband splintered.
One small group became nomadic, these hardened fighters lived off the land, becoming almost feral. They left behind the luxury of servants and squires. Even neglecting to care for or polish their armor, the metal would eventually oxidize to a blackish hue, these men soon became known as the 'Black knights'. The leader of this group Skarn Von Ulfwere eventually decided that he and his men had lived apart long enough and called an assembly.
Four years ago the Wolverines reformed again, now under the leadership of Captain Sangrim, Skarns successor. With new blood swelling their ranks and numbers increasing all the time, the warband is once again on the march. They never refuse a fight, hate bigots and fascists, love beer and have fun as a priority.
