We are a group of six local speedway following lasses aged between 15 and 21 that approached Tony Swales two years ago at Kaukos fundraiser (after a few drinks) and came up with the idea for one night, and one night only, to voluntary Brolly Dolly the Cumberland Classic, as we thought that it was the one thing that was missing at the Premier League Four Team Tournament. Tony Swales said that he would see Ian Thomas the next day and see what he could do. Ian gave us the go ahead and we decided to wear vest tops and black pants with umbrellas if we could get them. We got all the equipment and we practiced a small routine. On Sept 25th we did our 1st outing which we were all nervous about but it went fine with no major hitches. When the meeting was finished we got told 'same time next week' which we said yes to and from then we did the job.
When we first Started Start-lining people knew us as the "Start Tarts" and our origional Website was www.start-tarts.co.uk However we didnt think this gave off the right impression so we had a change of name and now we have a change of website name too.
