THE PUB

The Thatched House is a super little pub right in the middle of Poulton on the one way system, next to the church.  This locals pub dates back to 1907 when it replaced the original which was pulled down.  The pub's traditional ambiance attracts the mid 20's and upwards age group during the week who come to enjoy a pint of the best, have a chat with friends and watch the live sport on one of the TVs. There is an excellent choice of real ales at the bar, along with other draught beers.  This is a really great regulars pub where the local clientele help to make it the problem free, sociable venue it is. members of the golf trip meet early evening during the week..

HISTORY

The Thatched House Golf Tour has been held for over ten years and is usually held in March.

The Tour was originally formed as an opportunity for the Golfers that supported

* THE MICK MILLER CLASSIC *

( A local charity event )

A chance to get together and get in some much needed practise ( Both on the course and at the bar ).

Our honourable Chairman - Mr Roy Page - has organised the tour since its conception.

He is assisted by a full committee taking on various roles.

Whilst the members attending the Tour may change over the years.

The whole idea of the Tour is to have a enjoyable long weekend with close friends.

Each year the committee is voted in by the members and this results in a healthy rivalry to better the previous appointment.

Every year the Tour gets better organised and has now turned into an event not to be missed.

Most early evenings members of the tour can be found at the bar in the Thatched.
