"God is pursuing with omnipotent passion a worldwide purpose of gathering joyful worshippers for Himself from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. He has an inexhaustible enthusiasm for the supremacy of His name among the nations. Therefore, let us bring our affections into line with His, and, for the sake of His name, let us renounce the quest for worldly comforts and join His global purpose." -- John Piper
On January 22nd, a team of twenty-five youth and adults set off to serve God in Thailand. More than going to the other side of the world and back, eating squid, fried crickets and other interesting delicacies, visiting a butterfly and orchid farm, sleeping in a bungalow and riding an elephant and a bamboo raft, we have each been changed by God in some awesome ways while on this trip. Each year, three hundred faith workers from all over Asia gather for a conference on family and education. We went to Thailand to serve the people who attend this conference. Our team performed a variety of roles at the conference and also visited a tribal village and local Thai school where we were given the opportunity to bless and teach English to some of the students and, in turn, be blessed and taught by the children.
Blessed -- for me, this is the word that best describes my trip to Thailand.
My name is Lattany, and this is my story of the trip. The pages to the right are in chronological order from top to bottom. If you walk through them in order, they will tell the story of this trip, why I went, and what it means to me and to others. For those of you that recieved my letter, much of what I wrote in the letter is included on this site, plus alot more. Please sign the guestbook. If you need to contact me, please send an email to lattany@cox.net.
