We are currently seeking funding to open a formal rescue operation in the North Dallas area of the DFW Metroplex. If you would like to help out, please contact us for more information!
WARNING: Do not buy a hedgehog or any other animal from 'Mike Taff' in Frisco, Texas. He has been reported to the USDA for animal abuse having sold a barley 2 week old baby to a customer. We at Mrs. Tiggy Winkle's now have this baby being fostered by one of our mom's.

Dallas TX 75206
Our adoption location is in North Dallas.
SOMETIMES we will have a 'rescue' hedgehog that needs a home listed here on this page. When we do, we ask an adoption fee of $75.00 and an adoptive new owner must meet some contractual requirements to be able to adopt our rescued hedgehogs.
The adoption fee covers gas (we all know that isn't cheap these days) his room and board with us, and possible vet care (they all get a check up no matter what)! Contact us if you want a rescue hedgehog and want to be on our waiting list. We never know when one will turn up but we'll let you know when we do get one. Age, color, sex, etc are just whatever turns up. Know that a rescued hedgie has had a past life that may not have always been as nice as the one you now provide. It may take extra TLC and time on your part for him/her to adjust to you and your home.
We will contact any interested adoptive parents with more information on the requirements for adopting a rescued hedgie from Mrs. Tiggy Winkle's. *Rescues are for companion pets only and are not for breeding or resale to pet stores/ other commercial dealers.
Currently we have 0 Rescue Hedgehogs available for adoption!
Month of September:

Surrendering Your Hedgehog:
*If you want us to take your hedgehog for any reason because you are no longer able to care for it, we do NOT pay your 'adoption' fee. You are choosing to give up the animal, we are not 'buying' it. We have to pay to pick it up (usually), take care of it, and possibly get it medical help. We are sorry you lost money in buying the animal but we can only afford to spend our funds on helping the hedgehog as we are not rich people, but you can feel good in knowing that it will be well cared for and that we will try to find it a responsible and loving new home.
We only have room for up to 6 rescue hedgies at a time here now and we can take in newborns and un weaned babies.

Donations:
If you would like to make any small donations towards our rescue efforts you can do so via PayPal online here. Sometimes we will pay somebody's requested fee to get the hedgehog into a better home if we think it is being neglected or abused. Your donation helps us acquire such case adoptions. Sometimes people will demand as much as $140 for a 're homing fee' of an older and abused animal. We try to insist that people give up their hedgies to us of their own free will and not look to line their pockets if they truly are looking out for the animal's best interests but on occasion we run across an unfit owner that we just have to save the hedgie from even if it means 'rescue' the animal for a high RETAIL level price..... We do call the SPCA in extreme cases but in most you can just pay the person off and be done with them and save the hedgehog as quickly as possible.
We appreciate any and all help we receive from fellow hedgie lovers in the DFW area!
If you would like to donate Physical stuff we can use: Packages of clean, new, recycled bedding or alpine bedding
Silent bucket wheels (used is ok so long as they are rust free)
Small animal pet carriers.
Powdered Calcium for ferrets and small animals
Fabric Bandannas and cuddle sacks
Pet Smart, Target, Walmart, or Petco gift cards
*We do not accept food donations at this time for health reasons.
If your DFW area business would like to help us by placing a collection cup in your store we will be happy to offer you a web link and banner on our site in exchange for your support! Many thanks to all who help us in our mission to rescue area hedgehog orphans!
