Back in the last millennium...November 1999 to be exact, I found a tumor in my throat. As unbelievable as it seems, I had a sore throat for six weeks without ever once looking at my throat until it was almost too late. It felt like strep throat but I had been procrastinating about going to the doctor the whole six weeks. Stupid ME! This DID NOT fit well into my cognitive schema.
As you can see, the tumor had consumed all of my left tonsil. It had a "lobe" that extended into my throat. Everytime I swallowed, it felt like I was stretching this thing further down my throat. Thanksgiving 1999...one I shall never forget!
