What's Up in TESDA-10?

THE PROJECT HAS TWO OBJECTIVES

  • To provide skills and competencies to job seekers through appropriate training programs that are directly connected to existing jobs for immediate employment
  • To empower private education and training institutions to offer relevant training programs that meet job requirements.

TESDA is JOBS. TESDA is mandated to pave the way for the delivery of new jobs. Through an industry and market-driven, competency-based TVET, TESDA delivers TVET graduates to be employed in jobs created by industry. TESDA also delivers jobs to graduates of community-based TVET programs by way of entrepreneurship. These are TESDA's responses to the President's ten-point agenda.

TESDA Shifts Paradigm
TESDA, under the leadership of Secretary Augusto Boboy Syjuco, is determined to heed the President's call for the generation of ten million jobs for the next six years as part of the Ten-Point Agenda of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. We are taking pro-active partnership with various stakeholders and partners in technical-vocational education and training (TVET) by ensuring that all of TESDA's efforts are translated into meaningful and tangible employment for the Filipino people. To do this, Secretary Syjuco outlined five major paradigm shifts in the delivery of TVET programs and services to the people:
1st : The Pro-Active Matching Process
2nd: The Ladderized Tertiary Education System
3rd: Village Technologies for Community-based Agri-Fishery Training
4th: Plant for Life
5th: Purposive Career Development Programs for TESDA Staff

We would like to welcome you to the TESDA Region 10 website. After years of searching for the right data and concept for this site, we initially came up with a design which we deemed useful for all who are interested to source out information on TVET. This site is not only about TESDA-10 but it serves as the information portal for the TVET sector. It contains useful statistical data references as well as information on TESDA's programs. It is our intention to regularly update this site as our contribution towards provision of a quality TVET. We are grateful for the people behind this project who spent laborious time and effort in constructing this page particularly the TESDA-10 management information systems unit. We hope you find this site useful in your quest for information on TVET.
