Trikes Revisited 2

Well here it is what do you think? After I finished the engine I went to work puting it together. After getting the tail lights out of the chrome shop, "There cool huh", Off a 50's somthing crysler don't really no the year. but would like to find some more. Anyway we had a little problem getting the wireing loome thru the frame at different places but once we did, It went well. WE Put in all new VDO gauges and switches. and I developed a wireing set up that has proven to be bullet proof. I sell yhem now @mail me at triknbbq@netzero.net or triknbbq@yahoo.com and I will fill you in on them

We got it completed and then fired it and it lit the first turn of the key, and after a little tuning and break in we decided to call Jeff and tell him bring the beer and some tri tip and come get this junker out of here I am tired of looking at it. It was'nt 30 min he was in my front yard. And what you see is how we found him (hahahaha). He was the Husband of a friend of Linda, And now a good friend of mine, We had them over for a BBQ and he saw mine, I took him for a ride and that was it "Sold Another One" (hahahaha)

After set on it smiling for about 15 min. I finally had to tell him to start it. When he did I have never seen a bigger kid with a new toy as he was ,It was great. Then it was Time He put it in gear and did not quit until it ran out out of gas.(We only had about 1 1/2 gallons in it. after he got more I'll bet he put 100 miles on it dring around the nieghborhood. Another triker was born Yea thats it for this trike. Thanks for coming.

This is just cool

Dave & Kay Austin's Trike

This is David and Kay Austins Trike, This story is kind of a neat one. Dave had been down for awhile like about a year and a half and his BTW "Central Valley Chapter Fresno". One of the guy's teasing him and told him if he did not have his Trike at Kingsburg Trike In he would have to furnish the Tri Tip for the chapter Dinner saturday night. And anyone that knows me knows I am always ready for that kinda challenge, So I told David we can do this. "We had about 6 weeks" So I pick up his trike and brought it home and we never told anyone. David had to work thru the week but came up on the weekends when he could. It was in prety bad shape they had been trying to put that body on a trike that was'nt designed for it for one and it was to short, And it was on crooked and out of plum. It was on there thats all I can say. So I got a 12 pack of coolade (you no to clear my head) "LOL" and had to try and figure out how to get it straight, I was under the impression that it was close to being done. But little did I know (hahahahaha).

So I came up with a plan and thinking I can do this but it will be close. I had that tank laying around and that back seat out of a buggy, David had the fairing and I had the carpet kit out of a bug. He bought a sheet of diamond plate and the wood. I had a couple of old bugs to rob parts from, And I cleaned and painted the undercariage and frame for I don't no how many days. I tried fitting and cutting, trying to make as much of it as plum as possible, No cut or measurement was the same. We pulled the motor and R&R it painted it and chromed it. We went to work on the body sanding and reparing it and then just pimered it because they were not sure what color they want it at the time. I rebuilt the floor board and added hidden storage under it. The most nerve raking thing was the wireing, I had to make 3 different loomes interact with each other and still make it have integrety. We Finished it the saturday morning of the run and when he pulled into the chapter camp the look on thier faces made it all worthwild. And David made the one who challenged him buy the meat from him. This is what I love about "Trikers" you can have this kind of fun and everyone gets along so well for the most part.
