Philosophy

Existential philosophy states that we can choose to go along passively with society and do what is expected or become authentic and true to ourselves.  We have to navigate between being the creative soul that we yearn to be or give in to what is expected according to society’s norms. I believe that people have meaning crisis, which results in blocked creativity, unfulfilled dreams, lack of motivation, inner conflicts, and self-doubt. A meaning crisis is a crisis brought on by an emptiness or lack of meaning in ones life for the events that have taken place or the choices we have made. A crisis may take place if an artist decides to follow the norm and not follow their soul’s dreams.  A crisis may appear when an artist has reached a goal, has not proactively created more  goals, and than is left with an emptiness they cannot define, which can result in depression. A writer may have written a novel, had it published, and than wondering where to go from there, and not having any answers, they end up in a meaning crisis. An artist may feel empty or lost after having a show and not knowing what to do next they than created another meaning crisis. Art and writing is the oxygen for a creative soul and without it, they feel oppressed and stifled. Art is the very breath that they take every morning upon waking at dawn. A creativity coach helps clients find meaning once again, proactively set goals, and helps the artist or writer with their career.
