Happy New Year! Also, I have added some new reviews! Check out Scotland, PA in the film section as well as Beautiful Katamari, Blue Dragon, Fable II, Left4Dead, Mirror's Edge and Rise of the Argonauts in the video game section.
Haha! You thought I would drop the ball again! But you are mistaken! I have bought 8 (that's right, 8) fucking updates with me this time! Check out the beer section for reviews on Lord Chesterfield Ale, Paulaner Oktoberfest Marzen Amber, Long Trail Belgian White, Brooklyn Pilsner, Michelob Amber Bock, Michelob Honey Lager and Michelob Pale Ale. Also chck out the liquor section for a review of Gosling's Black Seal Ale.
Well, I dropped the ball again,bu as a peace offering, I have just uploaded 6 new beer reviews! So, check out the beer section for reviews of Ommegang Rare VOS, Chimay Gran Reserve, Abita Amber Ale, Aecht Gehlenferla Rauchbier <ges gesch> Marzen Original Schenkerla Smokebeer, and Blue Moon Autumn Seasonal: Harvest Moon Pumpkin Ale.
HOLY SHIT!!! Did we seriously just elect Barack Hussein Obama as our next president? That is so fucking cool! In my lifetime I have witnessed the first black president of the USA, and to think, The Fifth Element totally predicted this!
OK, because of the entire hubbub of the past election week, I did not get to start on the updates I wanted to get done. Start looking tomorrow for some more beer reviews, a few movie reviews, perhaps some video games that just came out, or some that I have been addicted to lately? I also have to add some whiskey reviews from abuddy of mine. Hopefully he's not angry that I have been LAZY AS HELL about all of this.
OK, I'm out for now, possibly back to update something else tonight.
Obama Yo Momma!!!
Commodore has returned!! Rejoice fair folks, I am back and have brought some reviews with me, I have stored up 46, yes, that's right, 46 beer reviews alone that I will begin to update. Here's my plan, I will add one review a day. Somedays I may add more, some days none at all, but the average (until I run out of back-logged reviews) will be one review a day.
So, in this fashion... Commodore has uploaded one beer review and will be changing the layout of the site today. Check out his review of Lagunitas Olde Gnarly Wine in the beer section.
Commodore has added seven new reviews in the beer section. Keystone Light, Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat, Ommegang Witte, Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, Smuttynose Summer Weizen Ale, Woodchuck 802 Draft Cider: Dark & Dry, and Yuengling Black & Tan. He added a review for The Dark Knight in the film section. Look for more film reviews before the weekend!
Commodore has added five reviews. In the beer section, Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, Samuel Adams Hefeweizen, Samuel Adams Pale Ale, and Victory Twelve. In the film section, Wanted.
Hey guys, I just returned from Vermont and Maine to both vacation and spend some time with a college buddy. Now that I'm back, I've got a lot of material to go through, I believe on final count, I have something like 26 new beers to go through and review. Additionally, something like 16 new wines as well as some movies and video games that I've been holding off on. So, what we're looking at here is a tentative once-a-week update that may include somewhere between three and ten reviews at any given time. The Swordsman is still away for another few weeks but he sent me a review earlier in the week that I'm just getting uploaded. Sorry for the lack of serious improvement to the site, but reviews will be flowing like water during the rest of the summer, and soon our site will be advertisement free! I just need to get some more reviews up and hopefully everything will be working out fine! In the meantime, enjoy the following...
Commodore has added five reviews. In the beer section, Ringwood Old Thumper, Shipyard Blue Fin Stout, Shipyard Export Ale and Shipyard Fuggles IPA. In the film section, Hancock.
Swordsman has added a review for Bomberman Land (Wii) to the video game section.
Commodore has added reviews for quite a selection of seven beers. Check out the reviews for Southampton Double White Ale, Modelo Negra, Arrogant Bastard Ale, Flying Dog Doggie Style Classic Pale Ale, Great Divide Samurai, Blue Moon Summer Seasonal Honey Moon and Delirium Tremens in the beer section.
So, sorry guys, it's been a while, and I thought things would get less hectic after school was done, but it looks like things will be crazy for another week or two and then I may have some time before I move in to my new place. I'm heading to Maine and Vermont over the next week and will be buying as many beers as possible to bring back and/or drink but will most definitely review them all. Keep with me an when this is all done, I'll be working on the site no less than twice a week.
Also, this is great!
Commodore has added reviews for three movies, two current theatrical releases and one from last year. Check out reviews for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, You Don't Mess With the Zohan, and Disturbia in the film section.

Hey all, how's it going? I have been alright, it has been insanely hot around my area for the past few days, finally cooling down to the mid 70's to 80's today. I had a nice, long, 4-day weekend from the school, which was amazing. Last night was my good friend's 21st birthday celebration, and I am horribly sunburned on my shoulders, upper back, and upper arms. Seriously, it's been this way for three days now, I'm sick of it, I was hoping to be healed up by now, but it looks like I have another day of discomfort. Well, I sit here now, waiting for computer installations to finish, so I figured I would write a little rant here about a few recent happenings. Firstly, I hate being sunburned, well, to be fair, it's three days of hate and then the rest of the summer is awesome in those bodily locations, no more problems, no more burns, just nice olive complexion. Secondly, I haven't been playing too many video games lately, I'm back on a comic kick, so I'll probably get going on reviewing a bunch of those soon, I just need to figure out if I should review each TPB (Trade Paper-Back) separately, or as a series up to where I am currently. I may do each issue of TPB (which roughly translates to one or two storylines each) and then a few 'the series so far' reviews. I'll try to keep the spoilers to a minimum, or I may have a page created specifically for spoilers in movies, video games, comics, books, etc. Bare with me, the school only has five more days, so after that I will be much more free to review things.
I Still need to write up reviews for a bunch of movies, like I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Young Frankenstein, Knocked Up, Leatherheads, Caddyshack, and Punisher.
Not to mention the video games The World Ends with You (DS), Assasin's Creed (DS), Soul Nomad and the World Eaters (PS2), Bombermanland (Wii), Mario Kart (Wii), etc.
The New comic series that I have been reading are DMZ, Transmetropolitan, Bomb Queen, and Powers (Which I read back in the day but am now getting back in to), plus new TPBs of Walking Dead and Fables are coming out this summer, which are great series.
Besides all that, I will be drinking a lot of beer soon to review, I have a few wines to review and some liquor, so I have a bunch on my plate, and most of it will be done by the end of next week. I will be going back over my collection of video games, movies, comics, etc. and re-experiencing this summer so I can review those as well. Any requests? The e-mail will be working soon and I will share my info with you then.
Until then, hope you enjoyed this little rant about the upcoming insanity, enjoying your Summer, and listening to my every word!
- Commodore
Commodore has added reviews for three summer beers!!! Check out Anchor Summer Beer, Brooklyn Summer Ale, Penny-Weiz and Dirty Penny Ale in the beer section.

Hey, you know what's awesome? This past weekend was awesome! If you were not involved this past weekend at all, you have missed some serious insanity that was, easily, in the top 5 weekends of my life thus far (top twenty if I include college memories at all, sorry rest of my life, but college kicked your ass so hard it's not even funny). Well, this past weekend was insanity made manifest. Throughout the Memorial Day Weekend I attended no fewer than three parties, and may have been to more, but cannot remember them. To begin with, I had a full two days off this weekend! I know, crazy right? But working two jobs, I find that I only ever get Sundays off, and since this was a long weekend with a federal holiday, both the school and liquor store were closed!!! Huzzah! Well, so Saturday evening was the famed and exciting Prohibition Party, this was a massive gathering of friends and friends-who-have-become-family. All were dressed up in either Gangster (1920s) or Gangsta (1990s) fashion, and fun was plentiful. The keg was done a little after 1pm and the 40s were attacked for the remaining few hours that people were conscious. The party was monumental in other ways too, specifically because it was the last one I will throw at my current location of residence. I am moving out soon, and it is for the best considering I am now banned from having anyone over to my current residence because I am awesome, and also in boat-loads of trouble. Oh well, shit happens, stuff breaks, nobody died, but damn did my mother act as if someone had.
Next on the agenda, my friend's graduation party was the following day, so after I had removed all the people from my domicile and cleaned sufficiently, myself and a small crew went to my friend Dayna's to party like it was going out of style, which of course, it isn't, but I thought it sounded good there, so I'll thank you not to edit my writing style. OK, well, at Dayna's we met a bunch of new people, forced a whole group to watch Plan 9 From Outer Space and drank even more. Then, yesterday (Monday for those of you not knowing what day I write this) was the great and incredibly successful, Great First Annual Grill and Chill! This was at my buddy John's place and was an excellent day of grilling, chilling, watching movies, playing video games, drinking, and a whole mess of Warhammer 40K. Personally, I could have done without the W40K, but different strokes for different folks and all that.
This weekend was superb, I can't wait for the next insane weekend craziness to happen, and I am very much looking forward to moving out soon. Merry Memorial Day week to all, and to all, get some sleep!

Well, the school year is drawing to a close and boy am I happy about it. I am so sick of working full time in an educational environment in a society that values entertainment over education. Seriously, why do movie actors receive millions of dollars every year while teachers receive almost nothing? Sure, I work in a private school, but I'm not really talking about myself, I'm talking about educators in general. They bust their asses 10 months a year (maybe more) to educate troglodytes, who then go and spend every cent of their earnings on entertainment and inebriation.
OK, so I spend money on inebriation and entertainment too, but I don't think I spend nearly as much as the average douche. Firstly, matinées are awesome, they may still be $8 but every little bit of saving help. I also don't require seeing movies on the big screen, it's fun and entertaining, but the average movie I can watch on my computer or television when it comes to movie channels. Take Speed Racer for example, I would not go to see that movie in theaters because I was never a big fan of the show or the comic, I also don't want to have an epileptic fit (or seizure) in the middle of the movie. I'll wait for it on television and then blaze my brains out so my eyes can relax and don't try to shut my brain down from all the flashing lights, neon colors, and intense movement.
Something funny, if you live in New York, try dialing Moviefone (777-FILM) and hit 7 when it asks you what selection. Listen to them all, some of them are particularly hilarious, like the Iron Man and Harold & Kumar: Escape from Guantanamo Bay descriptions and ratings. My buddy Shinobi prompted me to listen and it was worth it and hilarious.
I am officially done with the school year on June 20th, that's like 32 days away, minus the weekends (8 days) and Shavuot (Jewish pilgrimage holiday, 2 days) that leaves me with 22 days left of work until the summer is in full swing. Add on to that three personal days that I still have left, and the rest of the year is so close to being over, I feel like I have already developed senioritis, though I have graduated ages ago.
Speaking of seniors and graduations, congrats to all my friends out there who graduated from various schools, most notably the University of Hartford, my alma mater. Good job my generals and followers, it was great seeing you, partying with you, and eating Ginza with you, let's try to keep in touch.... thank you facebook!
During their commencement, there were some long speeches which gave me the opportunity to get started on The World Ends With You (DS) and based on the first mission, it is going to be a fun ride with intriguing gameplay and an immersive world on my old-school DS. Can't wait to finish it and write a proper review for that and the plethora of other hand-held games I need to finish and actually play. Also, did anyone else know there was a Blue Dragon tv series based on the 360 game that I haven't been able to play since my 360 is busted? I just found out Sunday morning when I was getting ready to go to the graduation ceremony. Must get 360 fixed over summer, though I am in no rush because I am moving out of my house soon and in to another house with someone who has a functional 360... yay cooperation!!!
I think I'm done for the time being, keep on doing your thing world, enjoy and stay safe, stay sane, and stay smart. If you're not smart, get there, because the world is full of morons and I'd hate to write you off so soon.

Ok guys, I have not been feeling well the past few days, but it's alright, because it seems that I now have a mutant healing factor regrowing damaged nerves in my body, too bad it hurts like a bitch with a flame thrower.
In other news, Commodore has added reviews for Iron Man and Dan in Real Life in the film section and Zatec in the beer section.
In even further, other news, It would seem that the summer is drawing ever closer, and the majority of my friends are officially graduating from their respective colleges, obviously the most important ones are the friends I made at my college, and they are (with the exception of like four people) graduating on sunday. That is crazy, to think that a scant three years ago, I was walking down the aisle to get my neatly wrapped diploma and now the generals from my Freshman Army are now receiving theirs. And it is crazy to see how they have grown over the past two years when I wasn't constantly around to point them in the right direction or help them out, but I feel like they have matured well. This brings to mind when I first sent my brother away to college, though he was only 1.5 hours from our home and about the same form my school, I hoped that he would turn out for the better, and thus far, he seems to have. What scares me and also makes me curious is that my other brother returns from a year overseas soon, he will be back just before my birthday and I can't wait to see how he's grown in the year since he graduated high school. Justs peaking with him online or randomly on the phone he sounds more adult, more concise, more.... normal? Is that a bad thing to say? For years I was worried about him and now it seems that all that worrying may have been in vain because he is about to return and I hope he has brought a new sense of maturity and respect with him. Also, I hope he doesn't just watch Sports Center and cartoon channels, I hope he's been branching out.
Enough of my friends and family, now what you've all been waiting for, more about myself.... I have been looking for a new place to finally move out of my parents' house. Now before you accuse me of being a momma's boy or something for so long, know that I work in the same place as my mother, we carpool, and I get to sleep during the morning commute, I also haven't had to pay rent. But now, a schism has formed in the house so I am packing up and soon, heading out to live with friends, unfortunately still in the area, but it is a step up from where I have been living prior in as much as I will not be with family 24/7 anymore, very soon. It will be great to live with these two buddies of mine, and my girlfriend will probably be staying there too, it will be like a fun-house, except with no goofy mirrors or cigar-smoking clowns (that's right, I wasn't sure if you could handle the Are You Afraid of the Dark reference, but I threw it in there anyways!) but there will be constant gaming, comic discussions, movie watching, and probably drinking/smoking. Ahhh, freedom. I am hoping that this is very much like my senior year of college where my roommate and I got along very well, we had tons of fun and were the bulkhead of off-campus activity for our crew of people. It seems that it may be so, but who's to know in this crazy world? OK, enough of this crap, I'll get back to work now, and try to get a few more things done so you can hear about them next week, perhaps a Mario Kart Wii review? Or some more movie reviews if I ever get to go and see some more. Enjoy your weekend, I'll definitely enjoy mine.
- Commodore
OK fellas, I'm sorry that I haven't added any new reviews up here, which is funny, because I have been enjoying plenty of media recently, between Mario Kart Wii, Empowered Vol. 1, Marvel Westerns, Hellboy Vol. 1, the Iron Man movie and Justice League Unlimited, to say nothing of the most recent five or six beers, but I seem to have forgotten my notebook at home that had most, if not all of, the information I need to actually review these things. So, in lieu of reviews today, I figured that I would rant a little bit about my current portable gaming situation.
So, recently a bunch of new games have come out, and/or I have picked up new games for my Nintendo DS. Would you like to know why you haven't heard anything about them yet? That's right, because I seem to have absolutely no time to play these portable games. This is a crazy problem for myself because I literally have over 5 games that I want to play for the portable, including The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, Insecticide, The World Ends With You and Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates. Now, I have played about 1/3 of the way through Phantom Hourglass and probably 1/10 through Revenant Wings, and perhaps maybe, just maybe I have completed 1/20 of Insecticide. I have determined that I have two problems in these regards,
1) I want to play too many games that I don't have time for, what with all the PS2 and Wii games and comics and movies and whatnot, there just isn't enough time in the day for me to get this stuff done.
2) I buy too many video games that I don't actually get through.
These are both a big problem for me because I love gaming, it's just been very difficult for me to get back in to portable gaming since I work two jobs and live in a warzone at my house. Which leads me to my next point, I'm trying to move out, get a new place, free up some mental sanity and kick it with some friends.
Also, my stomach hurts. Probably from taking Tylenol and not eating yet, oh well, ulcer-city, here I come!
- Commodore
Sorry about this past week, it's been just a little hectic around these parts, lots of work at the school and liquor store, so I'm spent at the end of every day. On the plus side...
Commodore has added reviews for Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock, Haviestoun Old Engine Oil Black Ale, Hitachino Next Beer XH, and Naked Lion Copper Flask Sour Mashed to the beer section.
Firstly, let me apologize for the past two weeks, things have been crazy at work, and then it was Passover. For those of you who don't know, Passover is a Jewish holiday where we celebrate our ancient freedom from oppression by not eating anything tasty for a full week, no bread, no beer, no rum. There are other rules, but those are the ones that hurt me the most. I also didn't have computer access last week, so I will apologize for sitting on these reviews for a while.
Commodore has added reviews for Ten Penny Ale Reserve and Samuel Adams Boston Ale in the beer section, and one for Forbidden Kingdom in the film section.
Spaceman has added reviews for Tröegs Nugget Nectar to the beer section and one for Yakitori Taisho (NYC) in the Bars, Clubs, & Restaurants section.

Now, for something a little different. As some of you know, I am trying to get my foot in the door to the video game creation industry, well, I've been in contact with some people on and off for a while, and recently, nothing has happened, which angers me to no end. I am stuck at a crappy school job and want nothing more to move out to California and get started on a career that I like. So, today I'm going to discuss with you one of the problems I have seen with the game industry recently, feel free to agree or disagree with me, they are just my personal opinions.
Today I will discuss two problems with the gaming industry, the rating system (and the problems therein) and big-budget game-making:
The ESRB:
The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) is a self-regulatory organization that applies and enforces ratings, advertising guidelines, and online privacy principles for computer and video games and other entertainment software in North America (Quebec in 2004 and 2005).
It was established in 1994 by the Interactive Digital Software Association (now the Entertainment Software Association). By early 2003, it had rated over 8,000 titles submitted by 350 publishers. - Wikipedia.org/ESRB
My big problem with the ESRB, before we even get in to their rating methods, is that people don't seem to look at the ratings. This is not the ESRB's fault, this is the fault of game store clerks, parents, and anyone else who is looking to attack the game industry. Let's take a game that everyone here has probably heard of, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which had a special 'code' that allowed you to fuck strippers, see nudity, etc. etc. This game was rated M, in case you didn't figure it out, that means MATURE, as in, no one under the age of 17 should have this game, or be playing this game WITHOUT THEIR PARENTS' KNOWLEDGE OR PERMISSION. So, why, may I ask, did senators, congressmen, news media, and parents go crazy when they found out about 'hot coffee's' existence in a Mature game? Why would this affect their young children if they are under the age of 17? The answer, is because many of them are horrible parents. Now, hear me out here. This is a game marked for Mature Audiences, yet 12 year olds are playing it? Why? Do they have fake IDs to purchase them from Gamestop? No! Their parents are buying it for them, do you know who that makes responsible? That's right, you guessed it, the parents. So, parents, why don't you take some fucking time out of your busy worthless lives and speak to your children, look at the games you purchase for them, do some research and stop bitching that video games are ruining your children. Take some of the fucking blame yourself. As for senators and congressmen, why don't you do your job, try to get our troops out of Iraq, end this superfluous war instead of worrying about games marked MATURE being in the hands of 12 year olds, that's not your place to regulate (well, not your place to regulate further after the rating system is enforced) spending habits of adults who are stupid and don't realize what they put in their children's hands. Let the parents deal with the screw-ups, and let me tell you, there are plenty of screw-ups.
You know, this entire argument reminds me of when I wanted to go see Face Off in the movie theaters. Did you know that that was an R rated movie? I had just turned 13 when that went in to theaters, and you know what? I was carded buying my ticket, they wouldn't let me in. Why, you ask? Because they didn't want to lose their jobs over one stupid 13 year old trying to get in to an R movie. R means RESTRICTED, I had to find an adult to go to it with me, that wasn't too difficult, I just found a guy taking his kids and asked to tag along if I paid him for th ticket, he said yes, I got in. There are ways around the system. Now, I am a relatively stable fella, I don't shoot or stab people or anything, and after watching that movie, I knew why I wasn't supposed to see it without an adult there putting it in context for me. DO THE SAME THING FOR FUCKING VIDEO GAMES, TELL YOUR KIDS ABOUT THE CONTEXT OF COP SHOOTING, TELL THEM ABOUT PROSTITUTION, they are learning these from the video games that you purchased for them. Grow a sack and be a better parent. Stop watching hours of Oprah and the View, get off your lazy ass and do some parenting!
OK, now for big-budget game-making. Why does every movie need a game on very system? I will take a perfect example. now, all you non-Christians, bare with me, I'm Jewish, but I know what the Chronicles of Narnia is about. I'm not stupid, the lion is Jesus, whatever, ok, the movie was a big-budget movie, created after the success of other big-budget movies, like Lord of the Rings, etc. So you take a multi-million dollar movie, and some executive is thinking, hmm, we should cash in more on this and make a video game that takes the same exact plot from the movie, adds AI (artificial intelligence for the Luddites out there) and ships it out to release the same day as the movie enters theaters. How long did that movie take to make? Probably a full year, maybe a little more, maybe a little less, how long did it take to make the game? Probably two months, right after the movie was finished filming they could begin on the beginning parts of the game. Do you know what the end result of the big-budget, two month video game creation process was? Utter shit. Have you played the game? No! Have you heard anything about it? Probably not! Do you want to know anything about it? Probably not, but you're reading this, so I'll tell you anyways. You control one of the children in a four-character simultaneous battle system, like Marvel Ultimate Alliance, but I'm pretty sure it was only one player (two tops people). So, you are running around and your brothers and sisters are being controlled by the dumbest computer in the world (what were you expecting for a rushed, two month project?). People who have played this game complain that keeping two of your siblings around isn't too difficult, but that last one always wanders off. He doesn't do anything, he just gets trapped by enemies on the other side of the board and gets fist-fucked to death by goblins because he's too stupid to follow you. You know what other game sucked? Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Want to know why? It took the same plot from the movie (not the much better book) and turned it in to a video game that was clever (Wii-motions for spells, I can't even imagine the draw of playing it on another system without that) but also had horrile camera angles, poor AI, and was probably completed in less than three months. Dear Gaming Industry, take some time and have some fucking pride in your work, make fewer games but make sure they are awesome. Don't make a game for every fucking movie that comes out or soon we'll be stuck with Date Movie 2: The Video Game and that will make me want to kill people.
- Commodore
Commodore, I couldn't agree with you more!!!! You know almost every movie turned video game completely sucked. Terminator: Rise of the machines... AWFUL. The Matrix: Ok. Good cut scenes from another perspective of the movie, game play felt a lot like Max Payne but worse and the replay value was terrible.
Now lets switch entirely and look at the movies based on video games. Most recently the Resident Evil ones. Pretty bad movies that were marketed totally wrong. (Mila I still love you) Mortal Kombat: What did we need a blood code? Enough said! Tomb Raider Did we really need to see a second one? Oh that’s right... "hottest" woman in the world playing an English gun toting spelunker gets at least a trilogy contract...
Now for something serious. Super Mario Bros.
I love the game, I love the movie. The movie isn't even that great but the timing was perfect. Plus it evens out the positives and the negatives... +Dennis Hopper -John Leguizamo
Why not make a San Andreas movie and market it to 11-13 year olds with an R rating? I'll have kids just to deny them the privilege of seeing that!!!
Again, couldn't agree more. We wouldn't need anyone doing parenting if the parents would do their other full time job.
- Spaceman
I would like to issue a warm welcome to our newest correspondent, Swordsman, who has written three 'near-beer' reviews to the beer section. Sorry there isn't more of an update today, work's been really busy for me.
Commodore has added reviews for Naruto the Movie 3: Great Excitement! Tha Animal Panic at Crescent Moon Island! to the anime and film section. Also, he added reviews for Employee of the Month and The Woods to the film section, and a review of the Dragonfly Lounge in Stamford, CT to the Bars, Clubs & Restaurants section.
Commodore has added reviews for End of Evangelion to the anime and film section, as well as reviews for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, No More Heroes, and Rock Band in the video game section.
Commodore has added reviews for Harp Lager and Dogfish Head Pangaea in the beer section.
Commodore has added a review for The Myth in the film section.
Ok, here's the plan. I am going to try and add at least five reviews of various things a week, if my collaborators send me reviews, those reviews will be included in this '5 updates per week' thing. But it's hard to do all these reviews by myself, so here's my APB (All Purpose Broadcast, for those of you who want to know what it stands for):
If anyone is interested in reviewing any or all of the following (including secondary reviews of items already reviewed by other writers on the site) Beer, Wine, Movies, Television shows, Books, Anime, Restaurants, Bars, Clubs, Websites, etc. let me know! send me an e-mail with the following pieces of information
- I need a Who's Who about you! Check the Who's Who page to get some ideas.
- I need a photo to put next to your bio.
- Have a codename ready. I am Commodore, we have Spaceman and Shinobi too. We are looking for more.
- I will not set you up until you have at least two reviews ready to go. If you are reviewing beer, try to put a rating within my rating system, just for the sake of convenience and streamlinity.
- Keep the reviews coming, try for at least one a week, if you can't do that, maybe one every other week? I mean, it takes me about ten minutes to review a beer, which is about the length of time it takes me to consume a beer and take notes on it during. For video games, I like to play a decent chunk before reviewing. Films take about as long as a movie to review (who would have thought?) and television shows require a little familiarity with the show and subject matter.
- Keep it relatively clean. It's not like little kids are reading this, but if you plan on using these for future purposes (like my written portfolio which is helping me get an editing job... I hope) then just be prepared for the consequences of putting 'shit' and 'ass' as every other word.
- Keep reading this list, I swear, there is more substance to it.
- Believe me when I lie to you.
- Follow my segmented thought patterns until you are a complete follower of my credo.
- Don't look behind you.
- Buy me a six pack.
- Yeah.. I got nothing else.
So, the moral of the list is... oh, wait, yeah, so if you are interested, let me know, write a response below, and if I get any serious applicants I will post my e-mail address.
- Commodore
Commodore has added reviews for Lagunitas Capuccino Stout and Hook & Ladder Golden Ale to the beer section and a series review for Neon Genesis Evangelion in the anime section. Look for a movie review about The End of Evangelion coming soon so the series can be given a final review.
Anyone out there want us to review a specific beer, wine, anime, movie, book, etc? Let us know below.
Something has finally been added to the Secret Techniques page! I know, right? It's been there forever and hasn't done anything... It was almost as if it had been forgotten. Take a look and let us know what you think....
Also, with the warmer weather will come discoveries for the Artifacts page, just give us a bit more time to excavate... it's hard when it's chilly out, no one wants to document anything.
Commodore has added reviews for Lagunitas The Hairy Eyeball Ale and Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine Ale: 25th Expedition in the beer section and added a final review for the entire series of Death Note in the anime section.
So, I was chilling in the city yesterday, and by 'the city' I mean NYC, because it's the closest 'the city' to me and also the one I frequent most often, which is, in actuality, not very often at all. Anyways, I was in NYC with my lady, our friend and her fiance, to see the Bodies exhibit on Fulton St. This was a spectacular idea because it turned out to be loads of fun. The exhibit was entertaining and educational while also not being very crowded. (thanks go out to Easter and the fact that it has been on exhibit for almost two years for the ability to breathe and have enough space) While enjoyable, there were plenty of strange things there, and also plenty of disturbing imagery, some examples of both in list format:
Strange
- all corpses were Asian, and I may be wrong, but after researching it, they were all Chinese
- arteries and ventricles look like spongy awesomeness
- many Cell-esque scenes with corpses sectioned in to pieces to see all the inner workings
- taste buds analyze what you ingest so your body knows what chemicals to send to the stomach for digestion
- "normally there's a sac that goes there..."
- discarded cigarettes and cartons as 'art'
Disturbing
- the one male figure with no penis, but two distinct balls
- two female corpses compared to many male corpses
- massive thumb, suitable for wrestling, not for everyday life
- penis cancer *shudder*
- embryonic fetuses...fetus...fetusi...feti?
Afterwards there was much chillification, some cartoon watching, people being blunted and bubbled then a reverse-seated ride home (after a reverse-seated ride there) an attempt to locate separated bathrooms, and finally reaching home to watch more Neon Genesis Evangelion. A good day if ever there was one.

Alrighty kiddos, Commodore has got some good news for you. In case you were wondering about the beer section, specifically what my rankings meant, check it out, there is now a simple ranking guide to help you understand what I think is good, and what is... not so much. I also added two new reviews for Hook & Ladder Lighter and Hook & Ladder Backdraft Brown to the beer section.
Now, for something completely different! I have been playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl(Wii) since the moment I got it in the mail yesterday and have only one thing to say. Wow. Well, actually, I have a whole lot to say, like how much I enjoy Pit as a fighter, how much I love the new versions of Fox, Mario, Marth, and even Ness. I am a big fan of the Pokemon Trainer and love the Luigi's Mansion stage. I understand that it has not changed that much from the past two Smash Bros. but I believe that's ok. Soul Calibur doesn't change too drastically each new incarnation, nor do many other fighting games and yet we still love to beat the crap out of each other while playing them. I won't insult you all with a review of it yet, I haven't unlocked everything, I've only played against one real human being, I haven't even finished classic mode (because I haven't tried it yet) or the Subspace Emissary mode (because I haven't had enough time to sit and devote to it) so these things will be forth coming. I feel sorry for Dynasty Warriors 5 that's been getting most of my play-time recently, now it's screwed. Also, poor No More Heroes, that doesn't even stand a chance.... nor do I think it's that good, but I need more time with it to decide. Oh well, since I got Smash, it's not like I'm going to play any Gamefly games anyways, I may as well hold on to NMH as long as I need to.
Anyways, this game is great, I use the Wavebird from the Gamecube at the moment, I don't know if I'm ready for the Wiimote yet, though I did use it exclusively for Dragon Ball Z: Budukai Tenkaichi 2 or whatever the whole name for that is. I just feel like I should kick it classic. And, maybe it's just me or my game/controller, but does anyone else have trouble turning around while playing? I have to seriously pull a left-right maneuver or hit the corresponding C-direction in order to turn around and get whomever is at my back. OK, well that's enough rant for one pre-lunch boredom period, I'll see you all later, please leave some comments, your feedback is greatly appreciated.
