Rules for Dragon City Names

If you don’t like the names I came up with, make your own!! Here are the rules for creating names in the Dragon City style!!  (Or rather, what I think are the rules—feel free to correct me if I’m wrong)

1) First and foremost, don't use normal names <Jason, Beth, Joe, John, Jenny, etc>! Use nouns, verbs or adjectives that would describe the character or their draconium color affiliation <Wyldfyr, Decepshun, Embyrr, Swayy, Kindyll, etc>

2) Replace all long ‘i’-s with a ‘y’ <Fire to Fyr>, but leave short ‘i’- s as an ‘i’

3) Replace ‘er’ with ‘yr’ or ‘rr’ <Bumper changes to Bumpyr > OR <Stalker changes to Stalkrr> <Tracker changes to Trackyrr>

4) Remove silent ‘e’-s <Breeze changes to Breez>

5) Replace all ‘–tion’-s with ‘shun’ <Deception changes to Decepshun> <Fraction changes to Fracshun>

6) Occasionally add/remove an extra consonant somewhere <Blare changes to Blarre> OR <Cliff changes to Klif>

7) Occasionally remove an extra silent letter <Dumb changes to Dum>

8) Occasionally replace letters with ones that sound the same <Wolf changes to Wulph> <Pursuit changes to Persoot>

9) Spell it like it sounds! <Charisma sounds like Kuh-rizz-muh, so it is spelled Karizma> OR <Hunt changes to Huhnt> and <Masquerade changes to Maskrayd> <Wolf changes to Wulph>

10) Make it easier to read, not harder <Parryel vs Parryl>
