Gear and Draconium Guide

Please note that I wrote this guide myself. All the answers were made by myself, unless I say otherwise. It's good to be an over obsessive nerd. ;D

Q:What is Draconium?
A:
A metal found on only the planet Dragon Booster takes place. It makes up dragons' bones and they can use its energy in directed streams called 'Mags' or 'Magnetize' as the full name is.

Q:Wait... How do dragons have metal in their bones?!?
A:
Aaah, I'd been wondering that for a while! Our bones are made of calcium. On the periodic table of elements, calcium is actally a metal. Well, on Draconis, humans' bones aren't made from calcium. They're made from draconium! Dragons' bones are made from draconium as well, though it's a more concentrated, pure form than in humans. Imagine us having bones made from pure calcium instead of being mixed with other things. Because their bones are more metallic, the dragons can use energy to create magnetic streams, "mags", to mag gear on. Gear is made from draconium, and, the way magnets stick together, so too does gear stick to dragons!

Q: I have a white Dragon; does this mean I can't use blue gear?
A:As Rob put it on DBDB (Rob Travino, writer of Dragon Booster)
"In "The Choosing" Connor said that Beau can "fully" magnetize and use all gear. Dragons of any color can mag any gear but the gear is far more powerful if the dragon is of the same or complimentary color. "
"All dragons can use white sledding gear, it's just that it works better and much more efficiently, (meaning your dragon can power it for longer) if the dragon is of the same of secondary color."

Q: Why does it hover over the dragon's hide?/ Where does the gear attach?
A:As Rob put it on DBDB (Rob Travino, writer of Dragon Booster)
"The gear floats over what are called in our world, "Zap caps" or places on the dragon's body where their draconium energy concentrates. These are located around the head, spine and major bones and joints. The other good reason it floats is a production one: it's much easier to animate if the gear does not "collide" with the dragon model. Chuck Johnson, one of our favorite nerds at Nerdcorps came up with the idea of floating the gear just off the skin."

Q: Are the little dudes in the Drag-Boxes and the purple tracking dudes dragons, or an actual gear form? Do they need to be fed and maintained? Could you keep one as a pet?
A:As Rob put it on DBDB (Rob Travino, writer of Dragon Booster)
"The orange dragbox dragons are specially bred chaos class dragons. Yes, you have to "feed" this gear and I wouldn't recommend them as pets as these are basically he only orange dragons that interact at all with people. as you can see, the orange dragons from the Prophets Crew are very dangerous, highly intelligent and for the most part, bent on eliminating human society. These are the only orange dragons bred for human "use" today.
The Purple tracking dragons are another story though as purple dragons are more domesticated. So, they'd probably be a good pet."

Q: Are Saddles made up of different draconium colors for different dragon bone colors so that they can mag them okay? Do saddles float as well?
A:As Rob put it on DBDB (Rob Travino, writer of Dragon Booster)
"Built into all saddles under the controls are small contact panels of all the colors of draconium. When the rider moves the bars over the color and activates, the dragon senses the frequency of the energy and uses that gear. The dragon though actually has to make decisions on how to best follow the rider's instruction. Yes, the saddle also floats just above the dragon."

Q:How does green ramming gear (example) get big and small?
A: The gear has sort of shelves that can slide out and in. It helps keep the gear small and out of the way when it's not being used.
