As Real As Dreams

Spring term: English subsidiary subjects. Lots of fun with the English exchange students Jill and Debbie. Special topics: Romantic Literature, History of the English Language, and Social and Regional Varieties of the English Language.

In the summer holiday: InterRail to France and Great Britain.  

Autumn term: I start my basic courses in Nordic Languages and Literature.

Spring term: "Easter seminar" with fellow students at a mountain farm in Valdres.

May: I take basic course exams in Nordic Languages and Literature. Plus a bit of Latin on the side.

In the summer holiday: Visit to Jondal in Hardanger and trip to Cyprus/Egypt.

Autumn term: Subsidiary subject in Nordic with special topics Language Standardization and Swedish Literature from the 80s.

I start my main subject studies in Nordic. Special topics: Literature for Children and Youth, Language Standardization, and Modern Language History.

Autumn term: Exam in Ethics and Philosophy of Life (module: History of Ideas).

I join the Bøygen editorial staff.

In the summer holiday: Bus drive to St Petersburg with my family.

September: I hand in my post-graduate thesis. Examination lecture on Literature for Children and Youth.

Spring term: Course in Applied Pedagogics.

In the summer holiday: Trip to Nice with my family. 

Autumn: I move to Rælingen and start working as a Norwegian and English teacher at Rælingen high school.

In the summer holiday: Trip to Portugal with my family. 

Autumn: Exam in Ethics and Philosophy of Life (module: Philosophy).    

5/20: I lose my mum (born 4/19/1931).

In the summer holiday: Trip to Israel/Egypt.

Autumn: Exam in Ethics and Philosophy of Life (module: Religious Studies).

Autumn: A year of sabbatical leave from Rælingen high school: I follow basic courses in Literary Studies at the University of Oslo.

September: InterRail to Denmark, the Netherlands and England.

October: Trip to India.

April: Trip to London.

Spring term: Exam in Literary Studies.

Autum term: One-term course in Translatology. Exam in Ethics and Philosophy of Life (module: Theology).

November: I move back to Oslo.

Spring term: Basic course in Translatology.

July/August: Trip to Lesvos.

Autumn term: Subsidiary subject in Translatology.

New Year's Eve: Unforgettable Millennium party with friends in Oslo.
